#combotober 2. Combo using Kicks only I did like this one, glad I got to include Cammy and going from end to end, but If I use CVS2 again I'm gonna try not using A Groove. It's so much fun but 5 other grooves something should be able to cook right?

Just saw Coyote Vs Acme. Good movie. Daaaaang good movie. It's one of those movies that get better the more you think about it. From its song choices, soundtrack choices, the story behind it feeling... just so right. Helps it's hilarious and firing on all cylinders at all times. Highly recommend!

When I think of the nature of celebrity and the kind of popularity that I used to strive for I grow to dread ever getting to that level, where my every action is scrutinised. But things don't get better in silence and doing nothing, and I gotta put myself out in some way, I've become very quiet...

Microsoft keeps reinstalling Copilot, so I found a way to rip it out of Windows for good

There was a part of me that really thought I had the minerals to get to God Of Destruction in Tekken 8 S2 before Season 3 but the ranked climb... is a lot... ment this is as far as I could go. Furtherest I've been and thought might as well have something to show for the effort! For now... a break.

Found this on the AO3 subreddit, and I'm about to let it change my whole life (or at least work really hard to internalize it wrt my writing).

Someone's screenshot of a two-post twitter thread, from user blue (@bluewmist):

the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

#combotober And with that, Combotober 2025 comes to a close. Was a heck of a journey and I've loved labbing and going through all these games, and remembering why they rock. Thanks to @abadidea.bsky.social for hosting the event, and all those who contributed! Let's get ready for the next battle!

#combotober Day 31! Free Space 3! Power Stone! There was one other game I was hoping to showcase that held meaning to me, but I can't deny Power Stone means a lot to me too. Something simple but awesome to confirm into super to close this month out!

072

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 30/10/2025

#combotober Day 30! Combo That Spends The Most Meter! Blazblue Chronophantasma! 100% meter to 0, activate Overdrive, back to 100% and then burn it all again. That's Terumi for ya~!

082

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 29/10/2025

#combotober Day 29! Combo that starts from across the screen! Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite! This game is an enigma that baffles me to this day but the more I play the more I'm intrigued to work it out to cook. And that's with the base game, who knows how deep I'd go if I ever went... Beyond.

052

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 28/10/2025

#combotober Day 28! Highest Vertical Distance Traveled! Blazblue Central Fiction! Had to give Ragna some love this month. Practical? Not in the slightest. Vertical? Very.

#combotober Day 27! No touching opponent! I chose BB Cross Tag Battle! ...Personas don't count as touching right? I mean Adachi's just swirling his gun and enjoying himself he's not touching anyone! And Nu certainly isn't either!

#combotober Day 26! Combo that involves a wall! SF3: Third Strike! Turns out you can't turn music off separately on Online Edition But had fun relearning this combo I figured from yesteryear!

074

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 25/10/2025

#combotober Day 25! Non Fighting Game! I went for DMC 5! Very rusty but went for more practicality, so went with a certified way to deal with Fury!

073

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 24/10/2025

#combotober Day 24! Combo of two hits! Soulcalibur 2! I'll be very interested to see other folks entries today, two hits isn't a lot for sauce, but had to get some SC2 since I've been playing it lately.

063

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 23/10/2025

#combotober Day 23! Touch of Death! DBFZ! There's a whole bunch of ways to do TOD's in this game but I'm glad I took time and labbed till I found my own way to do it. Also no idea why the video quality nosedived, PS capture for most others didn't have this problem...

0124

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

#combotober Day 22! Combo that uses a taunt! I picked Tekken 7! Fun fact, a lot of these I use who I was GOING to use as a training dummy. Bryan was a logical choice until I remember this launch has juuuuust enough leeway to get a patented Miguel Woo Hoo.

064

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 21/10/2025

#combotober Day 21! Free Space! Garou: Mark of the Wolves! I feel this is redemption for being cheeky with SNK day, took a while for this game to click with, it's haaaaard.

063

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 20/10/2025

#combotober Day 20! Combo that starts with a throw! Went with Persona 4 Arena Ultimax! This feels like it's like a frame away from extending into sauce but this was the most practical application I could find. My biggest takeaway is developing a craving to finish Persona 4 on PS2.

063

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 19/10/2025

#combotober Day 19! Repeated move! I chose Smash Ultimate! Only works on this stage and only works on heavy characters like Fox but a TOD from grab with 8 As is a TOD from grab with 8 As.

#combotober Day 17! Tag game! I picked Battle for the Grid! Favourite is such a big question but absolutely had to get Battle for the Grid in here.

075

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 16/10/2025

#combotober Day 16! Indie Fighter! Them's Fightin' Herds! Recorded a combo, realised didn't need the lights to get the relaunch, accidentally recorded mic and call audio, edited it out, uploaded the wrong file... I am very pleased I cooked but man did it take a journey to get here...

052

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 15/10/2025

#combotober Day 15! Other Publisher! I chose Melty Blood Type Lumina! There's still a lot to wrap my head around in this game but I think this is cooking?

063

maravex.bsky.social @maravex.bsky.social · 14/10/2025

#combotober Day 14! Other Favourite Arc System Works game! I picked Guilty Gear XRD Rev 2! Struggled today, really tried to do something spicy but I kept running into a wall to make the combo more me. Settled on just a dust into excitement. Coulda burned another 50% but that'd only be 30+
