Exactly right. Most people who make it to the levels of uber wealth, I believe, have certain traits that allow them to bypass empathy, compassion, deep regard for others, a decent, moral compass, etc. You have to be solely focused on yourself and your maniacal compulsion to collect and hoard money.

I'm extremely active and in great shape as a 65 yo. I'm an editor, travel the world doing photography, and play drums in two bands. I volunteer in my community on many levels. I ADORE younger people and am amazed by them daily. But that doesn't negate what older, wiser humans bring to the table.

Airline pilots are required to retire at 65 (commercial flights, not private planes, charters, etc.) due to medical standards--reaction times, vision, cardio, etc.--mostly because if they succumb to a health emergency, many people can die.

The fact that younger people feel they can't lead just reinforces their naivete. Unfortunately, most younger people don't even exercise their power to vote people out of office--leaving older people to control gov't make-up. Lots of amazing involved young people, yes, but too many are navel-gazing.

Disagree if job is cerebral. If you're of sound mind, are present at votes, meetings, serve on committees, network well, present cogent, compelling arguments that help pass laws, you're good in my book. Maturity (at its best) = wisdom, clarity, perspective, selflessness. Youth can lack wisdom.
