My most important tranniversary is coming up. It’s the anniversary of the day after the last time I ever cosgendered, or the day I fully started being myself, which was a huge milestone in my social transition. It was another four months before I started HRT, which was a big deal, but not as big.

This week’s episode of Strictly has vastly less branding and infinitely fewer slogans than last week’s. I assume that means they agree with me and feel a need to start actually following that policy, but I also don’t expect them to admit it when they finally respond.

The maddening thing is that the entire basis of the ruling was that they decided “sex” in the pregnancy section has to be “biological sex” (SAAB), and “sex” everywhere else must mean the same. And yet it still doesn’t, because “gender reassignment” is defined as undergoing a process to change sex.

Many years ago, i had a serious mental health crisis and was hospitalised for it. The care was actually really good and that week on a womens ward did in fact save my life. Had i been treated as the nhs now says i should be, i would have in fact, only been pushed deeper into my suicidal crisis

The problem is that it doesn’t really know anything, so it doesn’t know when it doesn’t “know” the answer. If it doesn’t have a most likely pattern of words that is correct, it still has a most likely pattern of words that is wrong, and no way of telling one from the other.

I don’t know Cal, but I do know trans people who have fled the UK in the last couple of years, and others who are actively making plans to do so. I’m not sure I know any who haven’t at least considered whether it might be an option.
