Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Movie) This movie went a bit more mature, which was expected because Shadow's backstory doesn't really work without it. It did a decent job retelling the story of Adventure 2, but it really just made me want to replay the game.

Spiderman - Across the Spider-Verse A visual treat from start to finish, with such unique blends of animation. It did a great job of setting up new villains and establishing the heroes. I also appreciated how many queer allegories are in the movie (especially trans).

La-Mulana An extremely in depth puzzle exploration game with a wide variety of locales and puzzles that cross the whole game world and male you think about everywhere you've been, leaving no detail unlooked. I enjoyed the puzzle elements so much, having dozens of pages of notes. Highly recommend.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book A really fun and engaging research adventure that was marketed IMO poorly. It was very fun exploring how creatures exist in their ecosystems and how they interact with each other to build said ecosystems. You are challenged to find the balance of the world.

I've never really liked the look or feel of games made in it. It's also a large contributor to the homogenization of games. I'm sure there were a lot of problems with everyone developing their own engines, but games looked and felt a lot more distinct.

The reason people use it is to reduce cognitive load, so any additional thinking (such as reorganizing the "information" in their own head) defeats the purpose of using it. Which really goes to show that it's not really useful.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 A fun action game that had a bit more teeth than I was expecting for a Spiderman game. The new abilities were fun, and the game had quite a bit to it without overstaying its welcome. A solid game.

Splatoon Raiders A really fun game that brought a bunch of new ideas to Salmon Run. I had a blast in the chaotic rush against so many bosses at once, especially in the endgame dungeons. I was expecting the game to be too easy, so was pleasantly surprised at just how difficult it got.
