Happy St. Patrick's Day! Fun fact: the Celtic Tree of Life (Crann Bethadh) is an oak tree, representing strength, resilience, and the hope. The Celts revered this tree; The name of Celtic priests, Druids, derives in part from the root “dru” which means oak.

People are sometimes confused about how oaks can thrive with no irrigation in a climate where almond orchards are dying. The answer is simple - look at the roots! Not only that, they build rich deep topsoil and support more than 6,000 other species. #NativePlants #Sustainability #EatAcorn

This is a HUGE issue for companies like ours. Fake meat companies have raked in a ton of money, but it is very hard to raise if you're doing anything truly innovative or unique. We're going to make it happen anyway, but with so much at stake there need to be better funding mechanisms in place.

An experiment of workplace democracy confirms that groups of workers that vote to determine their compensation scheme provide significantly more effort than groups that had no say in how they would be compensated. The estimated effort increase is between 7% and 9%. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....
The table/graph displays data showing that voting on the compensation contract increases effort. Both effort and effective effort are higher for the group that voted to determine their own pay distribution than the control group that did not.

To be clear, demanding more water be diverted from rivers to irrigate non-native crops that are mostly exported is demanding that Salmon go extinct. It doesn't have to be this way! There is more than enough water to go around if we transition to native crops. www.nbcbayarea.com/news/califor...

Industrial agriculture is one of the biggest culprits by replacing habitat with non-native monocultures that destroys soil, poisons insects, and poisons rivers with runoff. Humanity can do better - reconnect our food systems to natural systems and grow food in a way that supports habitat
