This bee must really like the flower it's on. It hasn't even moved the whole time I've been watching
The bee did not enjoy the flower. This is a photograph I took of an exceptionally well-camouflaged crab spider blending in amongst a sprig of bright yellow goldenrod out behind the factory. A hapless black bee is clenched tight and motionless within its jaws.

Finally made the trip out to Clifton Down to see the Common Wall Lizards on #WorldLizardDay last Friday, and they didn't disappoint! Incredibly showy in the late morning sun, giving great views and even posing for photos around the paths and benches #UKReptiles #BristolWildlife

Pretty in pink 💗 This is an elephant hawk-moth, one of our most striking visitors and we think it's really rather beautiful. You may have seen one fluttering around at dusk in your garden. They can also be seen in parks, woodland edges or grassy habitats. 📸 Rob Coleman, Sheringham Park

There are 31 iNaturalist observations of the harvestman Algidia viridata. Sebastian Doak has made 22 of them. Read his story: tr.ee/AwmgQ0_gh3
Close-up photo of a small green harvestman, spiny and moss-coloured, gripping thin green stems. Text reads: "BEHIND THE OBSERVATION · ALGIDIA VIRIDATA SSP. BICOLOR" at the top, and "Most iNaturalist records of this harvestman species come from one New Zealand ranger" across the lower half. A camera icon at the bottom reads: "seen by sebastiandoak on iNaturalist."A quote on a cream grid background with small green and gold doodles. Text reads: "I very much believe in the power of community in onboarding people with a passing interest into becoming truly passionate about nature. New Zealand, like many countries, faces several pressures to ecosystems, and understanding what we risk losing is an important part of the story in gaining funding and momentum to protect the special places we have here, and anywhere. The more people who are connected with nature, the more people are inspired to look after it." Attributed to "Sebastian Doak, sebastiandoak on iNaturalist."Two photos on a cream grid background: a man in orange overalls and a headlamp squeezing through a narrow gap between cave formations, and a close-up of the green harvestman on stems. Text reads: "BEHIND THE OBSERVATION · ALGIDIA VIRIDATA SSP. Thrilled to catch up with the unusual Tufted Duck at @slimbridge-wild.bsky.social this morning. From my observations I'm thinking it may be an erythristic Tufted, rather than a hybrid, but I'm happy to hear any other thoughts. Either way, a gorgeous bird! #GlosBirds

In panel one, a stick figure says “Sometimes friends drift apart.”
In panel two, we see a close up of an otter’s face. The otter says “nope.”
In panel three, we zoom out and see two otters holding hands/paws in the water. One otter says “not us.”

The thing about entomology is, there are always weirder bugs than anything you could imagine on your own. Here's Cysteodemus wislizeni, a blister beetle from west Texas.
Photograph of a metallic blue/green beetle with a very spider-like body, a huge fake "abdomen" that is swollen and dented with even pits over its bulbous surface. It is otherwise ant-like, standing on a pure white stylized background.

The wasp mantisfly, Climaciella brunnea, is not a wasp, a mantis, or a fly. It is instead a type of spider-eating lacewing that keeps itself safe by looking like it has a painful sting, which is does not. Evolution continues to be marvelous. 🧪 #Entomology
