Japan is far from perfect, but I keep finding myself shocked by what a difference it makes for a country to embrace conservation, humane technologies, &c. For example, here’s a straw that’s both compostable *and* doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart in my mouth. Incredible.

It remains unclear to me why donuts need to be gendered, but these are truly amazing and better than any that I’ve had in the US
