Sustaining God, who doesn't stand back yet builds and endows Your college of Creation.
Enrol us as learners, mentor our struggles, encourage, evaluate,
and as the foundation of all our worship, train us to care for those who share this Common Home of Earth.
Amen.

Here's a list of items requested by the food bank. We have a collecting point all year round, not just at harvest.
For the Food Bank:
Men's deodorant, shaving foam, shaving gel, toilet rolls, washing up liquid, breakfast cereals, rice pudding, custard. Tins: steak pies, mince pies, stew, tuna, vegetarian meals, mixed beans, kidney beans, soup (not tomato).

Dear God in community
We pray, as You commended us, both for those we love and care for
as also for those who choose to be our enemies.
For Your prayer was that none should be lost.
We remember those who are unwell, those in hospital, or housebound.
those whose task, today and through the night, is to care for them.
Amen.

We may have grumbled but God has responded.
God has responded and we have been fed.
Still, we may wander, still we need healing, though Christ wanders with us, for all the world's good!

We bring to You the hopes and fears in times of transition, asking that despite such burdens as we may carry close to home, we find faithfulness in the unity for which You prayed.

Sustaining God,
above us, beneath us, within us by whose grace
we see Your hand in all Creation and Your face in all Your children.
We pray for peace, for justice and for joy in the world we encounter, the news that we hear.
That through our lives and by our prayers
Your kingdom may draw near.
Amen.

Patient and Generous God,
whom we bother with our grumbling.
Give us that most deeply discerning gratitude, even for what's discerned - however distorted - from those who seem ready to stone their best allies
shoot themselves in the feet and welcome selfish tyrants who deny the cries are there at all.
Amen.

Dear God, You are more than we deserve.
So, thank God deserving has little to do with it...
We have grumbled and undermined what was offered, costly, for our survival.
We have fallen for lies of security, prosperity, whilst fully aware of their cost to our neighbour, our world and ourselves.
Amen.

Bring to God what no one else need hear: not for God to 'hear'
but to remind ourselves that God knows and understands.
Pray for those we pray with, acknowledging and respecting what they cannot share with us.
Look for support and perseverance, and some sustaining sign when we get things right. Pray for 'impatience' - not simply to accept
'the way things are' and pray for peace in our heart, and the fuller joys of Christ.
Hear us, stand with fears and needs.
And walk, hold hands, advise, encourage.
Amen.

What have we heard, in the news this week?
Who is in need and who should give thanks?
How far have we got, and where have we stumbled? And what seems completely beyond us? Listen for Earth's voice: what is it saying?
We remember our neighbours,
We pray for our enemies, and those we fear.
And pray for peace throughout Creation.
Hear us, stand with fears and needs And walk, hold hands, advise, encourage.
Amen.

God, who strengthens the enslaved with the defiance of gratitude
for all which escapes the hands of oppressors, We thank You together, when gratitude is hard on our own.
And we thank You alone, when community's hurting too much.
We thank You for the difference thanks makes;
And dear God for Christ, Your own thanksgiving of Yourself.
Thank You. Hallelujah.

The crises that surround us, it is true may be beyond what we can remedy alone;
so that fear and despair constrain what yet our hands can change;
our lips correct.
The harm we're part of here and now.
For the call of Christ has not diminished: to change minds for each new day; let go of harm; and seek Good News.
To hear Christ's call:
"Those who come to me, I do not turn away."
Christ forgives.
Amen.

Beloved and liberating God; to praise and worship You,
and to extol Your love and compassion is also to acknowledge our most urgent, constant need: to reflect, and then again, on choices and customs, costs and purchases, attitudes and scorn;
on speech and action, and even on silence and disinterest which carry us away in collusion with injustice that injures the Earth.
Amen.
