Sustaining God,

whom we bother with our grumbling.
Give us that most deeply discerning gratitude, even for what's discerned - however distorted - from those who seem ready to stone their best allies
shoot themselves in the feet and welcome selfish tyrants who deny the cries are there at all.

We have grumbled and undermined what was offered, costly, for our survival.
We have fallen for lies of security, prosperity, whilst fully aware of their cost to our neighbour, our world and ourselves.

Bring to God what no one else need hear: not for God to 'hear'
but to remind ourselves that God knows and understands.
Pray for those we pray with, acknowledging and respecting what they cannot share with us.
Look for support and perseverance, and some sustaining sign when we get things right. Pray for 'impatience' - not simply to accept
'the way things are' and pray for peace in our heart, and the fuller joys of Christ.
Hear us, stand with fears and needs.
And walk, hold hands, advise, encourage.

The crises that surround us, it is true may be beyond what we can remedy alone;
so that fear and despair constrain what yet our hands can change;
our lips correct.
The harm we're part of here and now.
For the call of Christ has not diminished: to change minds for each new day; let go of harm; and seek Good News.
To hear Christ's call:
"Those who come to me, I do not turn away."

on speech and action, and even on silence and disinterest which carry us away in collusion with injustice that injures the Earth.

We pray for a world in crisis and a Church learning to respond.
We pray for communities on the frontlines of climate change, for those losing land to rising seas, for those whose harvests fail in drought, for those displaced by floods and fires they did nothing to cause.
May our advocacy be as loud as our prayer.

hate what is evil and cling to what is good.

Please join us in prayer for the people of Nepal and Tibet, after devastating flash floods swept through communities along the border 🙏 We hold in our hearts all those affected, and the rescue teams working to reach communities cut off by the disaster.
