If you've noticed that I haven't been on here lately, it's because our cats both conspired to trip me as I reached the top step, and I had a bad backwards fall down to the kitchen. I can only sit at my desk for a few minutes at a time. Heading back to lay on a heating pad.

Political cartoon shows a long line of sheep being led through an open grassy field into a crowded feed-lot packed with sheep, and a handler with a stick at the gate he's packing them into.

That feed-lot funnels into a big barn-like structure labeled "Meat Packing" with crossed cleavers over the door.

With plenty of room/time to do something about it, one sheep stuck in the middle says "We should mount a resistance!",while another sheep admonishes "Now is not the time."

Unlike Gavin Newsom's paid influencers who make his "viral" tweets and tik-toks. Which are a strong contrast to the reality of him going on to far-right podcasts, or bringing them on his to increase their 'platform' - like Charlie Kirk, Steve Bannon, Shawn Ryan, etc. - to trash the LGBTQ community.
Marie Claire:
The TikTok Whisperers Behind Governor Gavin Newsom’s Viral Trump Roasts
Run by a young, diverse team of chronically online staffers, the governor’s feed is chaotic, deliberate—and changing politics.

By Noor Ibrahim - Published July 8, 2025 - In Features

When California Governor Gavin Newsom’s TikTok account posted a “f*** around and find out” meme aimed at the Department of Defense, it wasn’t just a bold move—it was perfectly timed.

The post dropped alongside the state’s announcement that it was suing the Trump administration over its June 7 order to deploy National Guard troops to Los Angeles for immigration raids. The 25-year-old staffer behind the account had been sitting on the idea of using that meme for weeks, waiting for the perfect moment to deploy it. That same week in June, Governor Newsom's posts generated 79.5 million TikTok impressions—including 17.2 million on the governor’s video address alone.

That viral hit wasn’t a fluke, but the product of a small team of staffers in their twenties helping one of the country’s most powerful governors resonate online. “We don't shy away from using edgy audio or riskier language,” the staffer who runs Governor Newsom’s TikTok account tells Marie Claire. “That’s what’s cutting through the noise.”

Still, for all the public attention their posts receive, the people behind them remain largely anonymous. Out of concern for safety and privacy, the governor’s office has asked that staffers not be named in full. That paradox—being culturally influential while personally invisible—captures a deeper truth about where political power is moving. Just a few years ago, members of Congress were giving tutorials on how to tweet. Today, a compelling social strategy is as essential to a politician’s image as a policy agenda or fundraising machine. And the people shaping it aren’t high-profile pundits or elected officials—they’re the ones in the group chat, the minds behind the meme, the hands on the phone at 2 a.m.From "thepride":

Gov. Newsom Provokes Backlash After Calling Trans Inclusion in Women’s Sports ‘Unfair’ on Podcast

LGBTQ+ Advocates Condemn Newsom’s Remarks, Calling Them a Betrayal and Dangerous

California Gov. Gavin Newsom surprised many by expressing concerns over transgender athletes competing in women’s sports during the debut episode of his new podcast, This is Gavin Newsom. The episode, which featured conservative activist Charlie Kirk, marked an unexpected discussion between the Democratic governor and the co-founder of Turning Point USA, a prominent pro-Trump organization aimed at mobilizing young conservatives.

During the conversation, Kirk pressed Newsom to clarify his stance on transgender athletes competing in female sports categories. “I think it’s an issue of fairness, I completely agree with you on that,” Newsom responded. “It is an issue of fairness — it’s deeply unfair.”

Newsom, who played varsity baseball in college, elaborated on his perspective. “I am not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you. … I revere sports. So, the issue of fairness is completely legit.”From Pink News:

Gavin Newsom press office slammed for hurling Grindr insult at MAGA influencer
Mar 27
 Written by Poppy-Jay St. Palmer

The press office of California’s Democratic governor Gavin Newsom has been called out online for using a “homophobic” insult involving LGBTQ+ hookup app Grindr against a MAGA influencer.

Posting to Bluesky on 25 March, Newsom’s press office shared a screenshot of a post from right-wing political commentator Benny Johnson of The Benny Show.

Johnson had shared a video from his appearance on Jesse Watters’ Fox News show where he spoke about fraud in California. During the segment, Watters alleged that the state had an issue with fraudulent hospices and daycares that registered as official businesses to receive government funding.

“I got a call from the White House after this,” Johnson wrote alongside the video. “There is a reason Gavin Newsom looks so terrified right now. He should be. Buckle up. The fraud investigation is about to get insane. Starting this week…”

The official Governor Newsom Press Office account then shared the post, writing: “We got a call from Grindr after this and said your team was their biggest users. Congrats!”

‘Homophobia is a very, very bad look’
However, the comment wasn’t the burn it was intended to be. Many Bluesky users criticised the post in the replies, with one user writing: “Man, listen Governor Newsom Press Office, homophobia is a very, very bad look. C’mon now.”

“Hahahaha! Being gay is funny! Hahahaha! It’s so funny it’s the punchline to a joke! Hahahaha! We’re the good guys!” added another, sarcastically.

Another wrote: “Democrats will keep pivoting to the right until they become Donald Trump. We’re gonna get a Democrat running on getting rid of gay marriage by 2032.”From "them":

Gavin Newsom Cites Trans Godson While Taking Anti-Trans Position

The California governor said that the states trans-inclusive laws around sports should change.

By
Samantha Riedel
October 27, 2025

California Gov. Gavin Newsom doubled down on his comments about transgender athletes in an interview last week, saying that a state law protecting trans student athletes should be changed while still casting himself as a trans rights advocate.

Speaking to California public broadcast station KQED, Newsom defended remarks he made to the late right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk on the first episode of his podcast earlier this year. Newsom said, at the time, that policies which allow trans women and girls to play in women’s sports leagues — including K-12 student-athletes — are “deeply unfair” and that conservatives’ “concerns” about such policies are “completely legit.”

“[W]hen it comes to sports, that’s impacting other people’s rights. It’s different,” Newsom told KQED, adding, “I agree on the issue of fairness in that respect, that it is unfair in these circumstances, and I haven't been able to reconcile it.” Newsom went on to say that there should be “nuance and grace” in policies impacting trans athletes’ participation, drawing a distinction between competitive and recreational events while denying he had “roll[ed] people under the bus.” At one point, Newsom stressed that he had “only one godson, who is trans” in defending his conversation about trans rights with Kirk, adding that he “hope[s] people actually listen to the episode.”

[...]

Newsom also pushed back against criticism for having right-wing propagandists like Kirk and Steve Bannon on his podcast, decrying what he referred to as political “litmus tests” and saying “[y]ou don't have to listen to it.”

There’s No Good Reason Why Hakeem Jeffries Should Work With Jared Kushner
Kushner uses his ties to the White House to make business deals with autocrats and extract money from world conflicts in Iran, Gaza, and Ukraine.

Alex Nguyen
Reporter

Democrats and critics of the Trump administration have criticized House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries as reports came out Sunday that he met with President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to discuss potential collaboration on issues such as housing, immigration, and affordability.

As Casey Michel wrote for Mother Jones earlier this summer, Kushner has used his ties to the White House to make business deals with autocrats—including the Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar—and work on foreign affairs as a “special peace envoy” in conflicts in Iran, Gaza, and Ukraine. That’s despite claiming that he would not play a role in Trump’s second administration. From Forbes:

Hakeem Jeffries Addresses Secret Kushner Meeting—Says ‘Trump Cartel’ Won’t Get A Pass

BySiladitya Ray, Forbes Staff. Siladitya Ray is a New Delhi-based Forbes news team reporter.

Published Aug 25, 2026, 06:58am EDT - Updated Aug 25, 2026, 08:05am EDT

Topline
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., addressed anger over his recent private meeting with President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and aide Jared Kushner, saying he took the meeting to discuss the affordability crisis, but insisted he still intends to hold President Donald Trump and his allies accountable.

Key Facts
In a video posted on X, Jeffries said he wanted to discuss the “Jared Kushner situation,” and claimed Kushner “asked for a meeting” with him.

Jeffries said he agreed to the meeting to discuss “the affordability crisis that exists — that is not a hoax,” in a jibe towards the president.

The House Democratic leader, however, insisted that “no one is going to get a pass,” and he intends to hold “every single member of the Trump cartel accountable…on day one,” presumably if Democrats win control of the House.

Without naming anyone in particular, Jeffries said anyone who is “stealing from…shortchanging…or screwing over the American people,” will be held accountable.

Jeffries said House Democrats have battled the Republicans and Trump on various issues including ICE, tariffs, Medicaid and “reckless war of choice in Iran,” among other things.

The House Democratic leader also touted results by pointing out that “Pam Bondi is gone, Kristi Noem is gone, and we’re just getting started.”

Ds should press candidates who claim to be serious about bold reform to spell out what they think is necessary to revamp the Supreme Court. They should not minimize the threat the current MAGA court poses, nor trim their sails to avoid incurring the ire of those who have pummeled our democracy.

We must make clear that we won’t stand for federal dollars being used to detain people simply for being unhoused. Together, let’s advance policies that will actually help people experiencing homelessness instead of making their lives more difficult.

Allowing Americans to live on the streets is not a standard our nation should be willing to accept, but forcing unhoused people into detention-style facilities and forcing them to work while corporations rake in profits is a cruel punishment. 🧵 @frost.house.gov

[Added Alt-Text] Adding Context. This "Study" is from 17 Nov, 2024 and references a pair of Lancet studies from 2022. The "73.9%" figure was from a cherry-picked 44 papers out of 678 studies, totaling 240 deaths of 326 autopsies.(🤔🙄) Mean age 70.4 years. And is from a quack site. 1/2

LARGEST AUTOPSY STUDY REVEALS 74% DIED FROM THE VACCINES.
Well well well would you look at this

@adogg573  - 11h

5.55 billion people worldwide took the vaccine. If 74% died from the vaccine, that would be about 4.1 billion people. That's about half the world's population. Just want you to understand how stupid you are.Links in 2/2

Abstract
Background: The rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines, combined with a high number of adverse event reports, have led to concerns over possible mechanisms of injury including systemic lipid nanoparticle (LNP) and mRNA distribution, Spike protein-associated tissue damage, thrombogenicity, immune system dysfunction, and carcinogenicity. The aim of this systematic review is to investigate possible causal links between COVID-19 vaccine administration and death using autopsies and post-mortem analysis.
Methods: We searched PubMed and ScienceDirect for all published autopsy and organ-restricted autopsy reports relating to COVID-19 vaccination up until May 18th, 2023. All autopsy and organ-restricted autopsy studies that included COVID-19 vaccination as an antecedent exposure were included. Because the state of knowledge has advanced since the time of the original publications, three physicians independently reviewed each case and adjudicated whether or not COVID-19 vaccination was the direct cause or contributed significantly to death.

Results: We initially identified 678 studies and, after screening for our inclusion criteria, included 44 papers that contained 325 autopsy cases and one organ-restricted autopsy case (heart).
[...]
The mean time from vaccination to death was 14.3 days. Most deaths occurred within a week from last vaccine administration. A total of 240 deaths (73.9%) were independently adjudicated as directly due to or significantly contributed to by COVID-19 vaccination, [...]Link follows in 2/2

Summary
Background
Mortality statistics are fundamental to public health decision making. Mortality varies by time and location, and its measurement is affected by well known biases that have been exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper aims to estimate excess mortality from the COVID-19 pandemic in 191 countries and territories, and 252 subnational units for selected countries, from Jan 1, 2020, to Dec 31, 2021.
Methods
All-cause mortality reports were collected for 74 countries and territories and 266 subnational locations (including 31 locations in low-income and middle-income countries) that had reported either weekly or monthly deaths from all causes during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, and for up to 11 year previously. In addition, we obtained excess mortality data for 12 states in India. Excess mortality over time was calculated as observed mortality, after excluding data from periods affected by late registration and anomalies such as heat waves, minus expected mortality.

Risk of myocarditis and pericarditis after the COVID-19 mRNA vaccination in the USA: a cohort study in claims databases

Summary
Background
Several passive surveillance systems reported increased risks of myocarditis or pericarditis, or both, after COVID-19 mRNA vaccination, especially in young men. We used active surveillance from large health-care databases to quantify and enable the direct comparison of the risk of myocarditis or pericarditis, or both, after mRNA-1273 (Moderna) and BNT162b2 (Pfizer–BioNTech) vaccinations.

[...]

Interpretation
An increased risk of myocarditis or pericarditis was observed after COVID-19 mRNA vaccination and was highest in men aged 18–25 years after a second dose of the vaccine. However, the incidence was rare. These results do not indicate a statistically significant risk difference between mRNA-1273 and BNT162b2, but it should not be ruled out that a difference might exist. Our study results, along with the benefit–risk profile, continue to support vaccination using either of the two mRNA vaccines.
