Buffo Wines 2024 Trocken landwein Rhein white pét-nat from Benzinger Wines in Kirchheim Germany, 12.5%. Pale yellow, mildly cloudy and not too fizzy. Sweet at first but finishes very dry, and extremely sour/tangy. Definitely in the “grape cider” category. Semi-glou.

Glera vino frizzante white pét-nat from Valdobbiadene Italy (DOC), 11%. Is a natural prosecco and is pretty standard for that sort of thing- dry, clear, crisp, medium mild bubbles, light yellow, slightly wine-y, not my favorite but not bad at all.

Domaine de la Chevalerie Bulle de Fort from France, 13.5%(!). Deep clear red. Lightly funky. Mostly dry with some tannins at the end, but still very drinkable. Cherry-apple aroma, very mildly fizzy. Doesn’t taste like 13.5%, and semi glou for a red.

Sifer Wines Goreti white pét-nat from Barcelona Spain, 11%. Made notes that got deleted, but I remember the gist being “Apple-y”- smelled like apple juice, twas the color of apple juice (clear light brown), kinda tasted like apple juice too w/ a tart wine kick? Not quite glou but pretty drinkable.

Bombolla rosé pét-nat from La Nou de Gaià Spain, 12%. Orange-yellow color, mildly fizzy, yeasty/fruity/earthy aroma. Semi-sweet and very sour in a way that comes together very well, is a lightly funky & fizzy orange wine that (despite not being my normal tastes) is pretty glou- if not glou glou.

Madrid wine bar lineup, L to R- bright orange & super funky w/ sediment (drinkableish), crisp dry white w/ fine bubbles (champagney, glou), and low alcohol (8%) rosé with some funk and mild carbonation (think it’s part piquette? Kinda meh). None were terrible, would only go back to the Tinc Set tho

Buchmeyer pét-nat Sauvignon Blanc 2025 bio-perlwein from Pillersdorf Austria, 11.5%. This is a really odd one- almost tastes like a beer? Like someone dropped a shot of pét-nat in a Miller High Life or funked up a Schlitz. Light yellow color, mild fizz, beer-y aroma, not quite glou, pretty unique.

Hajszan Neumann schaumwein pét-nat 2023 from Wien Austria, 10.5%. Had this one a few days ago but don’t remember anything about it other than it being decent (probably glou, bottle got finished…)

Sahel Ein Wildes Glaschen pét-nat weiss 2022 from Wien Australia, 10% ABV.Very sharp aroma, light yellow color but cloudy with lots of sediment. Very tart and bright, slightly lemony, tiny bubbles. Like a lemon wine spritzer, not quite that easy-drinking despite being only 10%. Not bad but not glou.

Malvin @malcojones.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Romain Paire Éclipse rosé pét-nat 2023 from France, 10.5%. More of a light sparkling rosé with some interesting notes than a funky pét-nat, it was really easy drinking (finished it before I took good notes, which is why this review is so short & vague:)). Glou glou.

Bizzaría Wines Overground White pét-nat from Murcia Spain, 12.5%. Drinking it in a (awesome) bar in Madrid (Fun Fun) so notes are limited, but this stuff smells and tastes very lemony, is slightly sweet, and very glou (glou glou even!). Good stuff.

Antonio Jimenez el Reflejo de Narciso pét-nat blanco from Zamora In central Spain, 13%. Looks like a cloudy lager, very “foamy” when poured, is quite sweet & sour with a decent amount of funk. Very lemon-y with peach notes. Tastes “healthy”:) Would say it’s more interesting than “glou”, but not bad.

Oyster River Winegrowers Morphos rosé pét-nat 2023 from Warren Maine, 10%. Hazy blood orange color, tiny bubbles with lots of effervescence. Sour/tart & tangy, orange flavor with a mild “vitamin c” profile that’s not too strong, slightly sweet. Not my favorite but fairly glou nonetheless.

Morphos 2024 white pét-nat from Oyster River Winegrowers in Warren Maine, 10%. Virtually no aroma? dull apple juice color with a slight haze. Very light & fruity with a mild to medium fizz, white grape with peach flavors(maybe some lime?), sour but not too funky. Glou enough & reasonably priced.

Pago del Vicario pet-nat 2024 from Ciudad Real in Spain, 11.5%. 100% Garnacha grape. An interesting one: murky peach-yellow color with a vague aroma and medium fizz, it’s very sweet (almost syrupy) with a slight “aged” flavor (normally don’t like this) but it all works together well here. semi glou.

La Mesma Indi Con le Bolle Metodo Ancestrale white pét-nat from Gavi Italy, 13%. Small bubbles, very fizzy with a floral & peachy bouquet, light clear yellow color. Very sour/sharp, dry, a little too much ABV/aka “winey” for my tastes but not bad for an inexpensive ($20) bottle of fizz.

Malvin @malcojones.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
Jubilee Vineyard/Constant Crush Wines limited “addition” dolcetto pét-nat rosé 2025 from Gaston Oregon, 12.8%. Cloudy light rose color. Sweet, fizzy, citrus-y and still very rosé with some tart funkiness. Almost a little too sweet, but that prob makes it more drinkable for that ABV.

La Staffa Mai Sentito! IGT Marche Bianco frizzante/pét-nat from Staffolo Italy, 11.5%. Apple juice amber color, fine bubbles, very dry, flavors of green apples and fully-converted-alcohol wine tannins. Mild funk & yeast notes. Not bad, good choice for people who don’t normally like pét-nat.

Malvin @malcojones.bsky.social · 26/07/2026
LS Merchants Fools Gold 2024 pét-nat from Western Australia, 12.8%. Sauvignon blanc & gewürztraminer grapes. Citrus/yeasty aroma, fizzy w/ small bubbles, slightly cloudy. Starts sweet but finishes dry with a very lemon-y flavor- the flavors hide the higher AbV, tastes like fizzy lemonade wine. Glou!

Malvin @malcojones.bsky.social · 25/07/2026
Dormilona Cherub chenin blanc pét-nat from Margaret River Australia, 12.5%. Dry, tart, and sharp, slightly cloudy, citrus aroma with a lemony taste to it. Had a bit too much oak-y aged flavor at first that mellowed out after a few sips. Decent enough but not very glou (too acidic and “aged”).

Aard rosé pét-nat 2025 from Aotearoa New Zealand, 11.5%. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Very funky and sour w/ some peach notes, cloudy pink color. Almost smells…metallic? Sweet, small bubbles, super fizzy. Would describe it as “rosé Chardonnay kombucha”. Not really my thing, but it’s not bad.

Terrace Edge rosé pét-nat 2025 from North Canterbury New Zealand, 12.5%. Fizzy & sweet w/ tiny bubbles, cloudy rosé color, smells both fruity & floral. Tastes like a lemon-lime-rosé soda (with a bit of “vitamin C” flavor but in a pleasant way). maybe slightly too sweet? but super-glou nonetheless.

Estate Black Damsteep pét-nat rosé 2025 from New Zealand, 12%. Pinot Noir and Riesling grapes, clear light amber color. smells like apple cider with some yeast and honey notes, tastes like grape cider with a little funky sourness at the end. Small bubbles and not super fizzy but pretty glou.

Lansdowne Petit Pét pét-nat rosé from the Adelaide Hills of Australia, 12.1%. Peachy and straw aroma, clear rosé color, STRONG rosé flavor, not super fizzy, pretty sweet, not super funky but there’s a little bit there that sticks around due to the sweetness. Not super glou, but not bad neither.

Cambridge Road Betta Splendens crémant pét-nat 2022 from New Zealand, 12.5%. Clear amber-orange color, very sour, tangy, and cider-y. Warm peach notes, dry, small mild bubbles. Definitely not glou- I don’t mind this stuff, but every glass after the first is WORK.

Marto Crazy Crazy 2024 perlwein from Flonheim Germany, 11%. Huxelrebe, Müller-Thurgau, and Würzer grapes. Amber color, slight cloudiness, good small bubble fizz. Very tart/sour with flavors of…peach and apple? Hard to nail down, but fruity. Not bad but not quite glou.

CapeNat 2023 pét-nat rosé from the western cape of South Africa, 11.5%. Dull yellow color, cloudy, decent fizz, strong apple flavors, dry, tart & tangy. Not bad stuff, though wouldn’t quite call it glou (“glou adjacent”). Better than most pét-nats I’ve had from SA.

João Pato Duckman “Duck Ray” brut rosé pét-nat out of Anadia Portugal, 9%. Smells terrible- Tastes decent! Has a sour “old sock” smell, has a reddish-brown color & is very cloudy, tastes like a rosé grape cider with a bit of funk. Wouldn’t call it “glou” but ain’t bad neither! (low ABV prob helps)

Pequenos Rebentos Ancestral Louriero 2022 pét-nat from Vila Nova de Gaia Portugal, 12.5%. 100% white louriero grape, amber pilsner color with a bit of haziness. Tangy and dry (well, semi-sweet), apple-peach flavors with some peppery-ness. Glou!

João Pato Duckman Ducking white(?) pét-nat from Anadia Portugal, 12.5%. Extremely orange for a white, apparently a limited edition pét-nat and is one of the few places where this specific grape is used. Yellow, cloudy, tangy, & citrus-y; not heavily carbonated and has some funk. Acceptable.

not sure I'd call it "horseshoe theory", but there's a lot of overlap in the groups on the far left & right miscomprehending OBAA and Sinners in very similar ways. "They portrayed the character with whom I most identified as a very flawed person!"
