Failed to read yet another paper on my phone because it was in 'published' formatted pdf Before computers, typesetting meant to make a paper readable. But nowadays those formatted pdfs are a much worse even than a basic Word file. Why are they still doing this?

Ok blusky, Claude wrote a really nice, potentially impactful paper folllowing a series of my prompts. What should I do with it? No journal would publish it, right? Should I print it and bury under the rock?

One of the most-discussed PNAS articles on Reddit last month was “Value misalignment in X’s feed algorithm is a reflection of value tensions in engagement.” Explore the article: ow.ly/FnpI50ZPSZN

Bottom: A radar plot of amplification results for low-level values using coefficients computed from the preregistered PCA analysis (Materials and Methods).

tried to summarize each of my papers with one-liner and it often comes to "this and that, but there are interesting details", or even "[something very obvious] but there are interesting details", so the honest contribution is almost always "but there are nuances".

It seems, lavaan quietly added "bad.marker.crit" argument with default=TRUE to a new version (July 2026): it switches the marker variable in CFA if it doesn't like yours. I know I should be watching versions when reproducing results, but it's quite a consequential change with a changed default.

6/ In Honduras, women initially looked lower in IH than men. Then we checked who they argued with. Women more often recalled disagreements with subordinates (e.g., children), where IH was lower for everyone. Status of opponent fully accounted for the the gender effect.
