Do you see this? This is lots of people who saw clearly that The Day Of Reckoning was coming, and wanted to do something to prevent it. And the world’s most poisonous, ugliest, most horrifying media class told the public it was a “carnival of hate”, and similar things www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-poli...

As the USA is an ally of Russia, shouldn't we be looking at the threat from the enemy within? Russia doesn't have military stationed in the UK and Europe, Russia's western ally does. Or do we carry on pretending that the geopolitical realignment of the USA doesn't really matter?

And I mean, it is not like we don’t know how to prevent billionaires and billionaire criminals buying up the means to cripple and direct democracy. We know very well how to do that, and anyone who makes any headway advocating for it gets crushed by our politicians and media outlets, acting together.

I notice that everything the press doesn’t like is “social contagion” now, except for the escalating crankery of the press, which is an organisation of a couple of thousand people mostly concentrated in one city, who largely all know each other - one thing that definitely *is* social contagion.

This all sounds nice, but the party remains under the control of people who regard e.g. slashing benefits, giving the US a zillion pounds for missiles and AI bullshit and war, and those people have a proven track record of blowing up any attempts to achieve any of this kind of stuff.

Shows you how naive I am: I really thought things like the Leveson inquiry, the Iraq War report and the Grenfell fire were too big, too ugly to ignore, and that there would have to be serious consequences and fundamental change. But LOL no, straight in the bin it all goes, and we continue as before.

I will remind you that all of the pundits unified on the position that the Labour Party taking small donations from members of the public, which secured their finances years in advance, was a terrifying and anti-democratic imposition of minority enthusiasms on the people.

NEW: Reform UK has received a record single donation of £36m from cryptocurrency billionaire Ben Delo in what will be seen as the Americanisation of British political funding.
The astonishing sum comes after Andy Burnham last month dropped his support for capping the amount a person or organisation can give in a single donation. The PM may be regretting that now.

If we want to suppress the wave of extreme far right radicalisation shittifying the country, then we need to send Prevent into public schools and elite universities, as well as the offices of the Times, the Telegraph and the Spectator and several cash-rich thinktanks. That’s where it’s coming from.

I never met Jason Arday, and know nothing about him beyond what I have read, seen and heard in the media.
As the debate around him raged in recent weeks, I stayed out of it, precisely because it struck me as one of those occasional frenzies in which facts get lost and humans cease to be treated as humans. I now wish I had reached out to him, tried to encourage him that "this too shall pass."
Many people today, those who knew him above all but also many like me who didn't, will be feeling sadness and anger that this has all led to his death, a family suddenly without a father, parents without a son. None of us will ever know exactly what was going through his mind, but it is hard to disagree with @MayorofLondon that Jason Arday faced "an unacceptable public hounding and campaign of abuse ... pernicious public shaming that other people in his position wouldn't have faced."

Police are so well protected when they handcuff a dying man, their superiors want to blame anti racism guidelines, not their absolute cruelty and fucking idiocy. None of the officers involved should have jobs right now. But we're discussing paperwork they prob haven't even read
