My mom is finally home from the hospital. We’re not out of the woods yet, but she is doing well and hopefully I’ve made her as comfortable as I can given her circumstances. I feel like I could sleep for a month.

Such a busy week ahead. Mom may finally be going home. Tons of meetings even with the looming layoff. Yesterday I had another bed rotting day, I’ve had 3 this month alone :( I need to be better.

To my last point. Maybe I need to lose grip on reality a little for a minute. I’ve had a photo series in mind since 2023, maybe I need to just explore it finally.

I have been under an inordinate amount of stress lately with the potential for a layoff due to this bullshit administration and my mother breaking her hip. I’ve been the only child to step up and assist for the third time they’ve had an emergency. I’m spent. I feel like I’m losing grip on reality.

Woke up just now to my typically locked bedroom door being wide open… apartment was secure, nothing amiss. The options are all equally upsetting - person in my house, sleep walking with no memory of it, ghost????? It would have had to been opened from the inside…. WHY DO I HEAR WHISTLING RN

My mom’s roommate at the hospital might have COVID. God damn it, this is the last thing she needs.

It’s noon. Haven’t been able to get out of bed yet today. I need to clean my house and visit my mom in the hospital still. But I also might bring my camera out of the closet. I feel like I’m inching closer to some sort of creative expression….i don’t know why it’s so hard. Anyway, 2022 work.

The Nature Notes of an Edwardian Lady, Edith Holden, 1905.

February
Folk-lore ete. The ancient name of Februarius was derived from the verb februare, to purify, or from Februa, the Roman festival of general expiation which was celebrated through the latter part of this month.
Chief days. - Candlemas Day, the 2nd of February, St Valentine's
Day, the 14th and St Matthias, the 24th.
"February fill dyke, Be it black or be it white, But if it be white Its the better to like."
"All the months of the year, curse a fair Februcer.
"If February brings no rain,
Tis neither good for grass nor grain."
"If Candlemas Day be fair and bright, Winter will have another flight."
But if Candlemas Day be clouds and rain, Winter is gone and will not come again.

I was looking through my Dropbox trying to find a banner image and like… forgot I was actually a really good photographer at one point? I haven’t picked up a camera in about 2 years. Funny how depression destroys you so thoroughly.

I’m trying to curb useless spending but I cannot tell you how much I want 32oz of premade iced jasmine tea, hand poured into a cup that is no doubt leaking microplastics into my brain by a 20 year old girl who I believe hates me. My body screams for water. I only think of tea.
