47) Stella Glow an SRPG with a great story and an amazing cast of characters. every unit you get is story relevant, and I love everyone here. I also love the artstyle and the models, the dub is super well done, and the music is incredible too. just, stellar all around, I absolutely adore this game

one of the worst and most terrifying pieces of information that ive learned is that in order to make friends you kind of have to be annoying to people. and if they like it thenn you can be friends. friendship is just when you both like when the other one is annoying

sure it's annoying when fandom behavior cheapens or ruins non-fandom things for you, but i have some good news. you can make 90% of those problems vanish by disengaging with fandom. their apparent omnipresence says less about fandom being powerful and more about your level of participation in fandom

true fear is being thrown into a second SRPG map in a row without being allowed to save and barely surviving it by the skin of your teeth

Ah, hello prince. This is a nice day for rolling, isn't it? We got the idea for rolling up some things. Well, for you to do it. Maybe some fluffy things. Fluffy things with points in their mouths. They make a noise, aw aw? I don't know how it goes. Get a lot of them. Anyway goodbye, I don't love you

46) Slay The Princess - The Pristine Cut a beautiful game with a lot to say. there are a surprising amount of branching paths, dialogue, and scenes to see. all the art is so pretty and it does so much with its core themes and ideas. this is definitely one that’ll stick in my head for a long time

I played Rhapsody a couple of weeks ago and ended up wanting to draw a few fanarts! Here is the first one.

I've been playing Slay The Princess and it's absolutely incredible it took a while to understand what's going on and what the game is actually trying to say, but fuck, it really hits it benefits a lot from repeated playthroughs and seeing all the scenes it has to offer

I've come today bearing more art from the amazingly talented artist @slowpumpkins.bsky.social !!! I'd love to thank them again for this piece! Amazing artist that has drawn the entire Marjoly Family of witches now!

45) Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure an adorable, charming, and slightly heartbreaking rpg with actual musical numbers. it’s chalk full of funny dialogue, lovable characters, and amazing pixel art. it’s super easy, but still fun with how you can recruit monsters and puppets. I absolutely love it

Rhapsody is a game where you can interact with a random spot right outside your house by accident halfway through the game and suddenly recruit a badass optional unit called NightShade so it's awesome

someone give me game recs that are standalone, not a part of a larger series/universe. can be literally any genre, long or short, just whatever you’re jiving with

they dominate discussion, they dominate search results, they dominate visual association, in using the same title you can't even trust someone talking about the game is talking about the same game you're thinking of, if you want to avoid remakes eventually you have to shrink your social circle

i'd like to just not talk about them but their existence inherently makes them part of the discussion and if you talk about the original now in most contexts you end up having to talk about the remake too, if the remake doesn't settle in as the default

maybe the actual thing that bugs me about remakes isn't how their cultural place ends up diluting our understanding of games history, but that it on a fundamental discussion level it feels like it just makes getting to have conversations harder

44) Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed it's Akiba's Trip through and through, but clearly with more experience/resources this time. a ton of H&D's roughness is ironed out, it looks and feels so much smoother. I def like the story and characters of H&D more, but this is still a home run. amazing game
