@thenewsagents.co.uk To perform the circuit break you discuss Labour needs to forget, for the moment, about the Red Wall. Deliver change that brings growth (rejoin) and hope that growth brings the Red Wall back in time. Kowtowing to them for ever more will lock Labour in an impossible position.

Those whom rail against postal voting are so often the recipients of postal votes.

@iandunt.bsky.social if you would follow me I’ll send you DM that might be interesting for your episode about the DT and how it has influenced people that I know.

Imagine being that desperate to make the political point of “look at me” that you want to dress Broadmoor up as an easy sentence. BROADMOOR.

Robert Jenrick was found to have unlawfully helped a Tory donor avoid £50m in tax, and served under Boris Johnson at the time BoJo's COVID parties turned 10 Downing Street into *literally* the most lawbreaking address in the country.

@scaramucci.bsky.social is modern American politics damaged by the lack of an official “Leader of the Opposition” role that the UK has. This lack of focus until the presidential campaign makes them rudderless and weak for close to 3 years. Primaries after the presidential appointment would fix this.

@iandunt.bsky.social & @dorianlynskey.bsky.social please can we have an Origins Story on “The Red Wall” and how the think tanks of the Left and Right’s pandering to its perceived singular ideology is holding the nation back.

If you spend your time denigrating women’s sport and female athletes or complaining about equality then I don’t ever want to hear about how you “want to protect our women and girls”.

There was some old boy on @lbc.co.uk this morning who still seemed to think that Brexit would fix his life and uttered the immortal whine of the conned “if we have even left”. We left, this is it, this is Brexit. If it isn’t working for you then it is time to admit you were wrong

@thenewsagents.co.uk Makerfield aside I think it is time for Labour to forget the “Red Wall”. Time and again they have voted against theirs and the nation’s interests. Chase the rest of the vote, bring prosperity, and use that to make change in the Red Wall, get them back that way.

£240 billion per year is £3,480 per person £8,570 per household Reversing Brexit for could make you that much better off. For the cost of £1 billion, which is £14.50 per person, or £35.70 per household. Ask yourself: am I an idiot? If the answer is "no", back undoing Brexit.

The Conservative Party got rid of Boris Johnson when he continued to under mine their defence of his lies. They got rid of their own for the greater good of the party.

Oh look it is another global event that will highlight the problems with our reliance on imported fuel. This will affect supply and cost. Alternative sources of energy aren’t just green they are essential for our security and our pockets.

It is so embarrassing that it has taken nearly a decade for a British minister to say this, a statement of the absolute bloody obvious

Well, today’s lesson is to fact check your long held beliefs before you post them. What was the last piece of information that changed my mind on a subject, well this was but it still seems a little one sided. questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-ques...

@lewisgoodall.com with all this talk of Sir Kier to go the political situation really looks quite bleak. No PM has completed a term since 2015, whatever your persuasion that is shocking. Is Britain becoming ungovernable, are the solutions tougher than MPs and public can swallow? Worrying times.

If you can’t raise taxes, you can rejoin the Single Market to boost the economy. The time has come for big ideas and the country is ready for it.

@lewisgoodall.com just listened to the 3 levers the Chancellor has, why is no one mentioning the 4th open to the party as a whole which is to rejoin the Single Market. Sure the RW press will be angry but they will be angry anyway. Labour need to be bold and I have seen no evidence of being bold.

For me the Leader of the Opposition’s response to be “I can score points” when a person who is clearly struggling speaks volumes of the state of UK politics. As manager and team leader I could not comprehend behaving in such a manner when a colleague was suffering.

Just for fun, let me tell you about somebody you've probably never heard of, but who was once one of the most famous people in England, a national hero, a disgraced fraudster, and an astonishingly accomplished piratical maniac. He led quite a life. (1/53)
