Yeah, olive oil and cheese and pastries can make you a little fat. Yeah, sunshine gives you wrinkles and wine ruins your liver and spending money on pretty things eats up your savings. But unfortunately, I've decided to enjoy life anyways

"But @claireb76.bsky.social, it's not clutter. It's the Japanese art of tsundoku." In Japanese, "tsundoku" (积ん読) means collecting books and letting them pile up, not from neglect, but for the joy of knowing they're there, full of untold stories. It combines "tsumu" (to pile up) & "doku" (to read).

Tiny star! Photo from my collection, no date/info.

Black-and-white photo of a short haired tuxedo tabby kitten. It is sitting up on a table covered in light fabric, in what is probably a photo studio. It is looking up brightly as if somebody might be waving a toy above its head, and it’s wearing a tiny bell around its neck.

Please enjoy this picture of my cat chasing a tape measure. My daughter says this pic is cursed.

Blurry image of an orange cat on a red rug, leaping and twisting to try and grab the end of a white tape measure in his mouth

It’s a bit late but I’m back at work now so I’ve made my new lemon pig and retired the old one. Come at me 2026!

Shiny new lemon pig of 2026 with toothpicks for legs, cloves for eyes and a 10 cent coin in it’s mouth

Desiccated old lemon pig of 2025 with shriveled brown skin, decaying cloves for eyes and gaping mouth and ear holes - retired after a year absorbing all the bad juju, and there was a lot of it!

Just want to say a giant FU to PBAC, which is only recommending semaglutide (Wegovy) to be listed on the PBS for patients who've *already* experienced a cardiovascular event such as a heart attack, stroke, or have symptomatic peripheral arterial disease. This is horribly bad public policy

There’s been a mass shooting at Bondi Beach. It was the first in Australia in 29 years. There’s been a mass shooting at Brown University. It was the first in the United States in far fewer than 29 days. Our policies are deadly every week and our mentality is a deadly export. #BondiBeach #Brown
