Roger.
A wildly vibrant sunset over the water. The water is a bit rocky and reflects the sunset. There’s a pier visible in the foreground.

Just incredible. #Eclipse2026
The sun, with a black circle in the middle, sits over the water. The sky is mostly dark, with a yellow and pink horizon. There are some hills and trees in the background.

Just sat down in a packed theater to see The Odyssey. To my left is a six-headed sea monster. To my right is a giant whirlpool. I hate navigating the problems of a middle seat.

It's officially June 28th, and you know what that means... 🎉 HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, MEL BROOKS! 🥳 @officialmelbrooks.bsky.social In the next post, I'll tell you my favorite joke cut from the Broadway production of Young Frankenstein...
An old but energetic Jewish man wearing a suit gives an open-mouthed smile that looks like he's just delivered a punchline.

In the Spring of 2020, while you and I were descending into madness, David Hockney went out with his truck and his iPad and documented the onset of spring in Normandy.

Where’s #watchsky at? Here are some beautiful dials at the Gotham Watch Fair today. @joedudekjd.bsky.social, @notalawyer.bsky.social
Akmaev watch with two koi over blue water. No paint was used: it’s all different colors of metal. Handmade.Grandeur “strange” watch, in partnership with the artist Kota. The numbers are out of order, but the hour hand always points to the correct number. Black face with white numbers and doodle in the center.E. Stohlman Earl watch with a turquoise dial, brown leather strap, and silver case and silver breguet numerals. The picture is at a bit of an angle from below and doesn’t quite do the watch justice.Dan Royter Nova watch. The dial has a mustard yellow outer circle with silver Roman numerals and a handmade inner disc that’s a black cherry color. The hands are nicely shaped with arrows at the ends.

I haven’t watched any of the second half. My semi-solipsistic theory that I, personally, cause the Knicks to play badly gains increased support.

Nice short article about @fordhamlawnyc.bsky.social Dean Emeritus John Feerick and his role in drafting the Twenty-Fifth Amendment: www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Is the Twenty-fifth Amendment Really an Option?
After J.F.K.’s assassination, a neophyte lawyer named John Feerick was summoned to Washington to draft the provision. Now everyone wants him to weigh in on booting Trump from office.

This is an excellent story. I laughed. I cried. I learned bread-related etymologies of common words. I got dirt on PR people who wronged the author. And I learned where to go for great free bread. My post-publication submission: the garlic knots at Villaggio Italiano on Central Ave in Hartsdale.

Here's Siavash Shahshahani, pioneering Iranian math professor & father of @shahshahani.bsky.social, standing next to the ruins of the Data Center at Sharif U., reminiscing & expressing his conviction that it will be rebuilt. It's beautiful & powerful & sad, even though I don’t understand his words.

As a teenager, I looked enough like the winner of the 1997 Scripps National Spelling Bee that well into college, strangers would semi-regularly come up to me on the street and ask if I’d won a spelling bee.

I am extremely in favor of games being a larger part of law teaching. Fiss & Berger’s “Woburn: A Game of Discovery” is great (if outdated). Students have to dig through the rules to win! Maybe someday I’ll actually get on that Evidence computer game I started…

The John Minor Wisdom Building: United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. It’s a stately building with lots of columns and arched windows, but while it’s wide, it also feels somewhat compact.
