Current WA results: 🟥 ALP / 44 🟩 NAT / 6 🟦 LIB / 6 ⬜️ ??? / 3 Pilbara - reports are that Labor's ahead on final numbers, but nothing official. Kalgoorlie - Labor will win if the Libs remain in the 2CP, but slight chance Nats overtake them. Kalamunda - Libs ahead by 64 votes.

At this point, I think we can call Port Macquarie for the Liberals. The Nationals last gained a seat in *2013* in NSW (state level), and since then they've lost multiple to independents, some to Labor, 1 to the Greens, and now 1 to the Liberals as well.

Looks like we can be pretty confident on this - In Prahran, the 🟩 Greens have lost their seat to the 🟦 Liberals. In Werribee, 🟥 Labor has retained their seat narrowly against the 🟦 Liberals.

It's been ages since I last did a thread, so I figured it would be a good time to write one on the Werribee by-election! On paper, it's an unassuming seat held on over 10%, but this by-election could very well change everything by next year's state election. 1/23 🧵

Without Scott Morrison to hate on, can teals deal a blow to the Coalition this election?
The teals face a very different political landscape for the looming federal election but an insider believes ‘tailwinds’ are cause for optimism

The SA Liberals have been going through it recently, and there's no wonder why Labor is cruising through SA polls despite going backwards across the rest of the country. At this point, Labor could realistically gain Sturt despite a a swing towards the L/NP across the country.

"It’s been very hard to be a transgender 15-year-old in central Queensland", says @maggieperry.bsky.social. Social media can provide much-needed social support to isolated kids in the digital world, when real life does not. Labor's law cuts a lifeline. www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/health/...

How the social media ban harms children
The government’s plan to prevent under 16s using social media will not protect them – instead it will cut off many vulnerable and isolated children from vital online support communities.

Sam Hibbins, who has been a state Greens MP for Prahran for 10 years (and just recently became an independent due to him having inappropriate relations with a staffer), has resigned from parliament. Definitely keep an eye on this seat for Macnamara (federal Greens target).
