You did not read my post. I said there should be parity berween pension rates, i.e. , one pension rate for all. So you could decrease the new state pension to meet the level of the old one but god knows how you live on that. That's why pension credit exists, as we have the worst pension in Europe.

It's under £1000 a month. And if a private pension eg, pushes you over the threshold (over £1250 from memory) you get taxed.

My pension is approx 860 a month, as i am on the "old" state pension. Unbelievable that there are 2 rates.This should be sorted out when we get independence. Such an unfair system, we are buying food and paying for power costing the same .
