Man this week felt like an entire month 😮‍💨

I just got my results back from my Swedish language placement exam, and turns out I'm doing better than I thought! Sweden offers free language courses for immigrants with 4 levels, and I've placed in the final level. Now I should be able to study and "graduate" in no time 🙏

If you’re worried about the future of games, remember that your $ holds enormous sway. Support companies who actually care about the art and craft of making games, who put people first and value their employees & audiences. Support indies especially. The future doesn’t belong to greedy corporations

I've had to mute a few keywords to make my experience on the platform a decent one. It's definitely much quieter when you remove a lot of the american focused hot topics though.

If we continue to let out-of-touch executives make out-of-touch decisions, this industry is going to look unrecognizable fast. Say what you will about Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Xbox in recent years, but they were clued into the gaming community, even as Microsoft pushed the current against them.

Tbf I do fully acknowledge that playing Starfield at launch is the main reason I didn't get very far into it. But Oblivion and Skyrim? I took multiple days off school/work to no life them and it was the best

I fully expect it to be janky as hell but honestly it's part of the fun with Bethesda games

I'm in a similar boat and I've run into more friction than expected as I slowly move us away from vanity metrics. But I think the main challenge for me is maintaining authenticity while also being able to prove the investment is financially sound.

Just started this one today, so far it's been okay but def hoping I don't run into too many issues because I am such an impatient gamer 😅

But just think, those first couple of weeks before it loses its novelty are going to be SO well-planned

This morning on the metro I saw a girl using an LG Shine to do her makeup. Is nature healing?

Looks like the Swedish govt is going to push to apply the new citizenship requirements retroactively to all applications in progress when the new rules go into effect. So basically a giant middle finger to the 5 years I've spent building my life here and all the hope I had to feel secure in my home

I feel like a tattoo would fix me. Either that or a mosh pit. I may need to go do some research in the field and report back 🤔

Most of our friends and coworkers who were affected by the layoff said goodbye on Friday. Today the office feels full of a tense stillness. I don't think this is the sort of thing you get used to.

Soup season also means crochet season. Do I have 3 other unfinished crochet projects collecting dust? Maybe. But what if I just make my first shawl instead of finishing any of those?

I won't be there but I hope you have the best time!

Ended up going with a rosemary garlic instead of cinnamon sugar focaccia, but the result was delicious af regardless

One benefit of burnout leave is I finally get the chance to rewatch Doctor Who and bake whatever random recipe I feel like each day. Small victories! (Today is the end of Season 1 and cinnamon roll focaccia)

Learning a new skill is not the hard part. Learning to be okay with sucking at the new skill is. My motto recently is "it doesn't have to be good, it just has to exist."

Burnout hard truth: you have no appetite, get tired of eating even simple things halfway through, and are left feeling guilty and like a failure for not being able to even feed yourself properly. And then you cry for 10 minutes over a half eaten banana.
