Writers, if you are against AI, do not put your writing into ANY tool that is itself AI. Not to check grammar, not to "prove" you wrote it yourself. Everything you give them becomes part of their data, even if it's only to "improve their service" or whatever BS they tell you.

#QueerWritersChat If I was acting, I would be one of those immersive method actors who inhabit the role, rather than playing a part. That's how I write characters & plot. For me, back stories include birth dates, fav colors/books/music, ancestry, families, etc. I exhaust myself but the dopamine! 🥰

#AwesomeCharacters I think my oldest side character is in their mid 50s. I haven't calculated their DOB yet, but they're in 2nd Saturn return range. For now, the youngest is a toddler. 👀 I don't think there's an age I won't write, but I don't think adult fiction needs a whole lot of kid time. 🤷

#WIPSnips #WriteSky #BookSky A sneak peak from chapter 1 of my current project, Hunting Season. It's going to be book 2, and I should probably start referring to this as the Moonrise series.

The only thing in her pocket was a small packet, addressed to Alpha Ramsay Grayson. It was an odd little thing, lacking any kind of modern envelope. Instead, it appeared to be a folded bit of paper closed with an old fashioned wax seal. The wax was the deep, dark red of fresh heart blood, and the seal’s image was a simple skull design with “1633” on the forehead.
The letter was carefully examined by several wolves – both fur and skins – before their leader took it up to the alpha’s office. He knocked on the door, and waited for the deep voice to tell him, “Enter.”
“Alpha, we’ve got an unknown human downstairs. She seems kind of messed up, so we’re thinking of taking her for medical care. She had this in her pocket, but nothing else.” He handed it over, and waited for further instruction.
Ramsay sniffed it carefully, and looked at the seal for a long moment before peeling it away. He set it aside and opened the paper. It was a single sheet of high quality paper, but it appeared to be nothing more than a blank wrapper. The thing it concealed wasn’t much more informative. Ramsay examined it carefully, then handed it to John.
