People don't believe me, but I'm TELLING you, there MUST be an active campaign strategy happening in media published by WB or other parts of JK's team trying to force HP awkwardly and unnaturally into public consciousness. Certainly from the WB side, I've seen multiple properties doing it already.

I'm happy to publicly come forth as the JP-to-EN translator of My Journey to Her by Yūna Hirasawa. It's a great honor to be the first openly transgender & nonbinary native Japanese translator to be credited for the translation of an Eisner Award-winning manga. 😊 Please see my full statement below.

A statement from Mishima Kitan. Due to the word count restriction of the ALT text field, the ALT text is split into two parts. The second part is in the subsequent image in the thread of this post.

Statement Part 1:
"Hi, everyone. This is Mishima Kitan. Today, I'm happy to publicly come forth as the Japanese-to-English translator of My Journey to Her, an autobiographical transgender memoir, by Yūna Hirasawa. My Journey to Her won the Eisner Award for the category of Best Digital Comic in 2025. I'm very glad that this significant book has been released physically as well.

I've been using English as my second language for over thirty years now. It's a great honor to be the first openly transgender and nonbinary native Japanese translator to be credited for the translation of an Eisner Award-winning manga.

At the time of the digital release of this book in 2024, I had some personal concerns about being credited so I requested to be anonymous in the initially released edition. In March 2026, Haruko Hashimoto (the editor of the digital edition) had reached out to inform me that the book was getting a physical release and to ask if I'd like to be credited as the translator. Upon consideration, I replied, "Yes." I felt ready to be credited as the translator and I also felt that this present moment was a historically important timing to confirm the credit.

Having my own fair share of transphobic experiences and having to entirely cutting ties with my blood family in Japan at age 20 to live and transition on my own, this memoir was one of the most emotionally challenging book to translate. But, as with any work that I do, I gave my best effort."

As you do. Anyways, looking forward to the rest of the story as it's added, especially now that I know a bit more about the author's past work.

A screenshot of a teaser movie from Madoka Exedra, one which previews the next part of the Sorana Magica story. This particular pic shows an outline of Sorana in her magical girl outfit, with various visual effects and stars in the background. The words "I'm going to get a spacecraft and fight Witches!" appear on the screen, presumably indicating her plans for the next section of the story.

I looked it up online, the description of it sounds genuinely interesting. I wouldn't have guessed hard sci-fi plus NicoMaki fanfic would turn into an multiple award winning novel, but I've enjoyed the story I've read of Sorana Magica so far.

MayaScientist @madscientist212.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Neat! Also that makes sense lol. I hadn't really read anything about the story before it came out, I didn't even know it was Sci-Fi and set in the future until I started it, so I didn't know anything about who wrote it.

MayaScientist @madscientist212.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Like seriously girl this is just part 1, the story hasn't even started yet! How many girls are you gonna flirt with? (This is just a sample of Sorana's being too gay to function, this but I'm getting tired of taking screenshots lol.)

That feel when you don't want to bother giving names to the parent characters in the tragic flashback, but it is also very important that you establish lesbianism runs in the family, so you're forced to create a name in order to prevent the parents from both being referred to as just "Sorana's Mom."

A sepia toned flashback scene from Madoka Exedra, showing the character Sorana talking to her mother, a young woman with glasses who is not given a name other than "Sorana's Mother" in the textbox. Sorana's mother is saying "I'm going to need you to pack up your things so that we can head to the shelter".

A little bit further in the same flashback scene. Sorona is asking her mother the following: "What about Mommy Lina? Isn't she at work right now?"

Madoka and Fire Emblem both becoming Sci-Fi wasn't in my late 2026 Bingo card, but okay, sure let's do it. I'm on board. (Technically they were both already Sci-Fi, Kyubey is an alien, Three Houses is full of advanced tech later on in some routes. The Sci-Fi is just a lot more prominent now).

A screenshot from Madoka Exedra, showing a blue haired girl named Sorana Nagiboshi. She is standing in a futuristic looking room with various Sci-Fi screens and gizmos in the background, a hand held to her chin, as she ponders gay thoughts. A textbox reveals said thoughts to be: "*Sigh* I wonder if I'll ever get to see her again."

The Blob. The original 1958 movie to be specific. The thing that scared me most was how the blob could squeeze and ooze into any space, even tiny spaces, so it could suddenly pop up out of ANYWHERE. The tiniest crack, the tiniest space, the tiniest gap, it could be waiting to lunge out at you...

It's just how arbitrarily applied it all is, you know? If enough money is on the line all the hand-wringing about adult content goes straight out the window. Rules that get suspended when there's a big payout to be made aren't about "protecting kids" and never were.

I know I've accidentally unfollowed someone on mobile at least twice since I'm clumsy and unfollowing only requires a single touch, so maybe I have just been doing this more often than I've caught it.

Sometimes I discover accounts here I was SURE I was following already but I'm not. There's no "soft block" here like on twitter, so not sure if my memory's just bad, there's an unfollow bug, or I've sometimes accidentally unfollowed people on mobile without realizing it.

I'm glad it worked on the honor system at least, I doubt Bsky is big enough to be an option if it did require some sort of account linking, and I sure as hell aren't going to post to twitter again for a single pull's worth of gems lol.

MayaScientist @madscientist212.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

So Madoka Exedra has a "Share your profile to social media" mission that earns you a few gems. Funnily enough it works on the honor system, it saves a screenshot to your documents folder and gives you the reward, there's no linking of any social media accounts. But might as well actually share it.
