What was John Locke doing, as he eagerly learned about, bought, and read contemporary works of biblical scholarship? My latest article looks at a less familiar side of Locke's life, suggesting it reveals an underappreciated early modern world of 'everyday erudition'. #earlymodern #skystorians

I also tell students to read at least a page aloud, then they start to get the hang of it and have fun. I suppose if you wanted an equivalent text for practice you could use a modern edition of early modern lit (think Shakespeare) alongside an EEBO early modern edition.
