It's ok not to be interested in the game, but not recognize the tech, features and all that's in the game is another story. I'm not smash bros audience, but I see and recognize so many great things that are in the game and why people are so in love with that game/series.

I 100% prefer this than what sony is doing. since the whole xbox one fiasco, they've been doing a lot of good things not only towards back compatibility, preservation of games, free cross generation updates for ALL their games (when games have different versions), different from sony and nintendo.

There's nothing quite like gears yet. And also, props to Coalition to try new things in gears. 4 and 5 are not bad in any means. Sure, it could be better in some areas, but it's not what halo 5 and infinite are to Halo franchise.
