I’m in a bit of shock that even my gecko food has a shortage right now due to ingredient supply issues. Sold out almost everywhere. Threw down to stock up on what I found in hopes that by the time it’s been used up, the situation will have improved.

I just spent a silly amount of time cutting branches with my tiny under powered hacksaw (it’s really meant for miniature work). Excited to have all the hard scape finished in Mango’s new place. Now I just need some plants. 🥰

After unexpectedly winning her first blue ribbon for a sewn cape in 1981, Carol St. Clair Johnson developed an enduring love for the New Mexico State Fair. The quilt Fair New Mexico-41 Fair Years incorporates more than six hundred of the ribbons she won at the fair every subsequent year except 2020 (when the fair was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson earned ribbons for needlework, knitting, crochet, pies, cookies, cakes, canning, jewelry, flowers, vegetables, and potted plants. The title of the quilt is a reference to the state song, and the design places the state's Zia sun symbol at the center. The quilt earned Johnson yet another ribbon: Best in Category (miscellaneous quilt) at the 2023 New Mexico State Fair.

I hit my toe 2 nights ago so badly I thought for a bit that I’d broken it. Turns out it’s just horribly bruised, a fab shade of purple, & swollen. At least I can still hobble around on it, very carefully. Thank goodness for soft sneakers. Was hoping this morning would be more improved, but not yet.

Apple charges people ~20% more than the Patreon list price and they keep the difference for themselves. They also hold the proceeds of iOS app sales for 75 days, making it impossible for creators to accurately predict earnings. They basically inserted themselves in order to rip *more* people off

Looking at how my quilt flopped over last night and it reminds me of massive fingers rising from the depths. Or at least until I finish sewing those panels together. 😋 Hoping to finish adding the rest of panels I have thus far today and stitch them closed into a solid border. We shall see.
