What do experts think about the famous Acemoglu et al. (2001) – Albouy replication debate? In our new discussion paper, we show that there’s no consensus among them. @jrgptrs.bsky.social ’s thread tells the story: bsky.app/profile/jrgp...

The association is particularly strong for the subjective indicator: individuals living in households that cannot keep their home comfortably warm for financial reasons are about 3.2 percentage points less likely to report at least satisfactory health.
Table showing regression results from a linear probability model, with a coefficient of -0.032 for subjective energy poverty.

Using SOEP panel data from 2010 to 2020, we apply three expenditure-based and one subjective energy poverty indicator, analyzed through linear probability models and fixed effects ordered logit models. We find that energy poverty is consistently associated with worse general health outcomes.

Excited to share the first published paper from my dissertation! Co-authored with @miriamrehm.bsky.social, it explores the link between energy poverty and health outcomes in Germany.
