Merry Christmas - too full, weather has been strangely sunny and warm. The view is beautiful and the food is abundant. Thinking of those who are less fortunate and wishing for a kinder year ahead.

Dang, I forgot Alt text for the 2nd image: a woman playing the guitar, singing into a microphone, stippled in speckled lighting. A packing case and guitar stand behind her in the shadows. She wears a silvery chain with pendant around her neck & has silver rings on her fingers. She looks pensive.

An introduction to the reflective music of clear voiced Bianca Steck, supporting Tom McRae at Tolhuistuin last night. Beautifully accompanied by the harp - always appreciate uncommon instrumentation and orchestration.
Red light cuts a swathe across a harp to the left, the pillar facing towards the camera. The harpist, a tall woman dressed in black with long light brown hair, sits behind, her left hand visible plucking the strings. To the right a woman with dark brown hair sings into a microphone, playing a guitar. She is dressed in dark colours with a white T-shirt. Between and behind them are a small effects board and the outline of stage scaffolding, packing cases and staging.

Celebrating 25 years of @tommcraemusic.bsky.social the apatheist’s iconic first album at Tolhuistuin, Amsterdam last night with the full band and faithful familial fans. All-engrossing and beautiful as always listening to old familiar songs with hubby and bestie. A light in the darkness.
A stage from above POV audience stage left (if you’re British), golden light bathes the centre of the stage. Standing audience members cluster at the lip of the stage to the left. The railing of the balcony and theatre lights obscure the bottom right of the picture. On stage stands the singer songwriter musician, Tom McRae, dressed in dark denim jeans, black shirt and waistcoat with tan brown lace up shoes. He holds a guitar, looking down at it, standing on a patterned red piece of carpet with pedal boards, running order, floor monitor at his feet, microphone standing before him. Around him are the band, from left clockwise guitar / keyboards player, bass guitarist (behind them the sound / lighting desk), drummer, a keyboard and cellist. A line of guitars stands between him and the musicians behind. A glimmer of stage lights shine in the blackness above.Blue light washes a small section of stage. A guitar on a stand to the right. Light reflects off the edge of a bannister on the right foreground. A man, Tom McRae, stands in the middle at a keyboard, singing into a microphone (the song is 2nd Law which rarely gets played live with the introductory voiceover). The head and arm of obscured cellist, Oli Kraus, are to the front right of the keyboard.

It’s autumn. We have a new Fred in the front garden and I made pumpkin pie. Doesn’t come more wholesome than this
A plump brightly coloured pheasant stands on a gravel path next to overgrown grass, in front of an untidy border and wooden arch covered in honeysuckle vines. Golden sunlight bathes the scene. A slice of pumpkin pie dowsed in cream on a white plate, placed on a wooden table. The pie has a jagged golden crust. A hand holding a fork is in the background. A corner of a crumpled Malaysian ikat table runner is on the table to the rear left.
