Fascinating (mind blowing at times) book about circadian rhythms with lots of tips for trying to fix/improve our body clocks! Author shows much we've messed up so as well as rapid climate action, factoring in these rhythms is important (for us & nature e.g. light pollution) #BookSky
Amy's hand is holding a book called "The Inner Clock, living in sync with our circadian rhythms" by Lynne Peeples. The book looks a bit orange because it is held in front of an amber light that replicates evening (& early morning?) light Last paragraph of the book says "There is hope for us, individually and collectively. You and I can start with our personal circadian hygiene. As cities, states, and nations, we can begin to brighten the designs of our indoor environments. We can turn down our lights at night—except maybe inside the greenhouses where we grow sustainable food, medicine, and fuel. We can reconsider how we wind our clocks forward and back, and how we organize our work and school days. And, as a united world, we can think more critically about those arbitrary lines we draw on the map. We've ignored circadian rhythms for too long, to our peril. Not only have we lost a fundamental connection with the rhythms of nature—the cycles of the seasons, the moon, the sun— but the quality and quantity of our years on this beautiful blue planet, and those of future generations, is at stake.
It's time to rekindle those relationships. It's time to reset and recover our inner clocks."
