Bottlebrush tree with its own hose #ColourADay #GreenSat #photography
A lime green hose in a bottle brush tree. The tree is behind a brick wall, with a beige coloured building in the background. Some green leaves red flowers of the tree are in view but it is the main trunk that we see. The hose is coiled up and hangs over a branch, that looks to have intentionally shortened, pruned. Afternoon sunlight falls over the hose and wall.

Not perhaps the best tourist weather Echo Point, Katoomba April 2026 #BlueSkyArtShow #Weather #photography
A lookout in fog and rain. What would be looked at is totally hidden by the fog and rain. People are at the edge of the lookout in the background, looking more like mounds. A large stone with a couple of people standing around it is closer to the camera, though not in clear view. A person is walking across the frame from left to right. Small shrubs and trees are visible in the foreground, at the edge of the lookout, behind a wire fence. A low bench sits by this fence at the left of the frame.

Trying to photograph a dead tree in black and white, ended up with this street view. #ColourADay #BWFri #photography #streets #trees
Black and white photo of a tree in the centre of the frame, with a footpath and front fences on the left and a road and dwellings on the fight. The main tree is dead, branches bare. A power pole is behind, with wires running through the tree and others behind it. A street sign is in front of the tree, sign facing the road. A speed limit sign is behind the tree. A bus stop and shelter is on the left, with a person walking along the footpath behind it.

When the building matches the colour of your dog #ColourADay #YellowThu #photography #dogs #SensoryArt #Buildings I'm going with mustard yellow, though the dog is probably golden I've posted a similar photo in black and white, as this is a familiar sight, but I prefer a colour version
A dog looking out of an open window on the top floor of a building. The dog is roughly the same colour as the outside of the building, a mustard yellow, though the dog is probably golden. The dog has its head out resting on the window frame, making a small shadow underneath. The window frame is dark, with white louvre blinds or shutters on them. The window is in a building on shopping strip, above an unseen retail outlet, and power lines run across the frame. A light blue cloudy sky is at the top of the frame.

Red roof peeking out 😀 #ColourADay #RedWed #SensoryArt #buildings #photography
Looking at two light coloured buildings from the footpath at an angle, an unseen driveway separating them. The building at the back has a red roof, of what looks to be corrugated iron. Two windows ar visible under the roof, one an arch on a second floor. The other is rectangular on the wall facing the camera. A brick wall runs along the front of this building and continues on the other side of the driveway. On each side of the driveway is a safety mirror, each with red rim and backing. That closest to the camera has the backing in view, the other the rim. The second building is taller and only part of an outside wall at a corner is in view. At the bottom of this wall are agave, some with long leaves over a metre tall, others not.

Slice of kitchen life on a Tuesday, for no reason #photography #kitchens
A corner of a kitchen, with a window kettle, toaster and wooden utensils in view. The bench is a bright yellow laminate, with a white silicone bench cover in the lower left corner. The kettle is glass with silver top and bottom, and is sitting on the white cover. The toaster is white with silver trim, and is in the middle of the frame. Behind the toaster is a double power point, each with a black cord, one to the kettle, the other the toaster. On the right of the frame is an empty honey tub filled with wooden kitchen utensils. Cream coloured tiles line the corner and under the window, with one tile containing a pattern of something "kitchen looking" - a bucket of what look like apples, with half of one at its base, and a stem of flowers - in brown. Across the window is a calico curtain, in the top left of the frame, with a door snake holing it up and in place on the sill as it is too long for the window.

Part of an installation at Vivid 2025. Artist Amigo & Amigo
The scene is dark, during the night, with a seesaw lit up with two eyes on a pole in the middle. What would be a long flat board on a regular playgound seesaw here is round, tube like, lit up with a purplish. In the middle of this tube on an unseen pole are two round eyes, one atop the other. The whites of the eyes are also a purplish colour.A person is sitting on each end of the tube, in silhouette. To the left of the frame is the end of another seesaw, this one with oval eye shape partly in view.

A microfilm/fiche reader printer sitting on a mobile table in an office. The machine is on, indicated by a small blue light above a white light over a glass cover. Loaded on the machine is a roll of microfilm, on a light blue spool. On top of the machine are several sheets of paper. A plastic container of microfiche sits behind the machine to the right of the frame.. A yellow microfibre cloth is by the machine, to the right. The table sits next to desk that has two archive boxes visible underneath. On the desk are some unidentifiable black objects and a spiral notebook. In the background is another desk with office chair and dark carpet.

This plant just keeps on providing me with images (some better than others 😆) #PurpleFriday #FlowersOnFriday #photography #bloomscrolling
Purple fountain grass growing in an unseen garden bed by the road. Few of the plant's leaves are in view, more the flowers. Some of the leaves are green, some are purple. The flowers are long feathery arched seed heads, most purple, some straw coloured. A shadow falls across the road behind the plant, that of a power pole with light and lines.

Street life on a now cloudy afternoon #UrbanGaze #photography #ibis
Looking down from an unseen balcony. In view is a property boundary, the end of a red brick wall, with and a lower red wall at right angles next to an entry to a driveway. Across the driveway is a drain cover. Over the lower wall is a maroon hooded jacket, white label in view, thrown over as if waiting for the owner to collect. On the footpath behind the walls is an e-bike, green handlebars, front basket and front wheel in view. An ibis, colloquially known as a bin chicken, is walking along the gutter, close the bike.

The making of a big hole below the surface of North Sydney, in what would become Victoria Cross Metro Station with a 42 floor building above. August 2020, as seen from the fourth floor of the building opposite via phone camera. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekLforLookingIn #photography
Looking down through a fourth floor office window to a construction site across the road, at what is now becoming a big hole in the ground. Steps in protective scaffolding lead down to the bottom of site, with lighting seen turned on. Various machines are in the process of breaking rock on the left of the frame, with their operational lights visible through the rock dust in the air on an overcast afternoon. Some of the broken material is in the process of being tipped into a truck at the right of the frame. The window being looked through is, not surprisingly, covered in rock dust.
This is the early stages of the construction of the metro station at North Sydney, what will be known as Victoria Cross.

Looking up at a section of 1000 Cranes, an installation at Vivid 2018. Artists: Ambient & Co- Christopher Simpson, Isabella Bain, Anthony Zeater, James Rotanson, Khanh Nguyen Can't miss the #lights in this one 😂* #photography *see my previous #BlueSkyArtShow submission
A section of an installation at Vivid 2018. 1000 Cranes is inspired by an ancient Japanese legend: if a group of 1000 origami cranes (known in Japanese as senbazuru) are hung in one’s home it will act as a powerful and benevolent charm and bring good luck.
The installation is a canopy of hanging origami cranes that light up as visitors move through the space. As the crowd grows more cranes light up until 1000 cranes are fully illuminated. The light colours of the cranes are individually white, blue, red, purple orange and yellow in this section captured. Most of them are purple. Some cranes are dark, not lit up.

On the right a rooftop structure with a cover and tiny tiny string lights hanging from a possible pagoda like structure. Two chimney pots are atop a chimney in the middle of the frame. The sun is behind this chimney, a golden yellow blending into brown among the clouds. A tall pole with something oval on top, possibly an air vent, is off to the left of the chimney.

Close up view of a pear in a street gutter, with some leaves, flowers, sticks and other detritus. The pear is lying on its side, over a join in the gutter. One half of the pear is green, where the stalk is, the other is more yellow. There is visible damage, bruising, marks; and a hole in the skin/flesh facing upwards with insects feeding on it. Small fruit flies (presumably) are on the outside skin, and also inside the hole eating the flesh. A small black caterpillar looking creature is at the edge of the hole. The light is dull but there are some shadows around the pear and also the top left of the frame from an unseen parked car.

The fence is orange/brown mix in colour, with darker brown layers at the bottom. The fence is sort of but not quite the colours of the cats. Both cats are facing the footpath, and are standing in front of the gate.
