Zooming in on a penny lizard poking its head out from a brick veneer crack in a wall, on a dull Tuesday morning #TextureTuesday #photography #skinks
Close up view of a skink poking its head out of a crack in a brick wall. About half its body is in view, two legs in full view and one back leg not quite. The bricks are blonde and the mortar is light in colour, and quite textured. Some green is visible on the bricks, probably mould given the orientation of the wall.

The making of a big hole below the surface of North Sydney, in what would become Victoria Cross Metro Station with a 42 floor building above. August 2020, as seen from the fourth floor of the building opposite via phone camera. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekLforLookingIn #photography
Looking down through a fourth floor office window to a construction site across the road, at what is now becoming a big hole in the ground. Steps in protective scaffolding lead down to the bottom of site, with lighting seen turned on. Various machines are in the process of breaking rock on the left of the frame, with their operational lights visible through the rock dust in the air on an overcast afternoon. Some of the broken material is in the process of being tipped into a truck at the right of the frame. The window being looked through is, not surprisingly, covered in rock dust.
This is the early stages of the construction of the metro station at North Sydney, what will be known as Victoria Cross.

Looking up at a section of 1000 Cranes, an installation at Vivid 2018. Artists: Ambient & Co- Christopher Simpson, Isabella Bain, Anthony Zeater, James Rotanson, Khanh Nguyen Can't miss the #lights in this one 😂* #photography *see my previous #BlueSkyArtShow submission
A section of an installation at Vivid 2018. 1000 Cranes is inspired by an ancient Japanese legend: if a group of 1000 origami cranes (known in Japanese as senbazuru) are hung in one’s home it will act as a powerful and benevolent charm and bring good luck.
The installation is a canopy of hanging origami cranes that light up as visitors move through the space. As the crowd grows more cranes light up until 1000 cranes are fully illuminated. The light colours of the cranes are individually white, blue, red, purple orange and yellow in this section captured. Most of them are purple. Some cranes are dark, not lit up.

Not long before sunset tonight looking over what was once public housing in Millers Point, Sydney And tiny tiny tiny #lights of the string variety (barely visible, in silhouette) for #BlueSkyArtShow, where we are all friends, yes 😀? #photography #sunsets #sunset
Looking over the roofline of terrace houses at a setting sun and clouds. The roofline is in silhouette, with the sun reflecting off some of the railings on the top level of the houses underneath. On the right a rooftop structure with a cover and tiny tiny string lights hanging from a possible pagoda like structure. Two chimney pots are atop a chimney in the middle of the frame. The sun is behind this chimney, a golden yellow blending into brown among the clouds. A tall pole with something oval on top, possibly an air vent, is off to the left of the chimney.

Pear in the gutter At least it's biodegradable (and is being helped along if you look closely 😄) #SensoryArt #fruit #ColourADay #GreenSat #photography #gutter #pears #discarded
Close up view of a pear in a street gutter, with some leaves, flowers, sticks and other detritus. The pear is lying on its side, over a join in the gutter. One half of the pear is green, where the stalk is, the other is more yellow. There is visible damage, bruising, marks; and a hole in the skin/flesh facing upwards with insects feeding on it. Small fruit flies (presumably) are on the outside skin, and also inside the hole eating the flesh. A small black caterpillar looking creature is at the edge of the hole. The light is dull but there are some shadows around the pear and also the top left of the frame from an unseen parked car.

Looking out to the world below #ColourADay #BWFri #photography #dogs
A black and white photo of a dog looking out of an open window on the top floor of a building. The dog is roughly the same colour as the outside of the building, a mustard yellow, so not sure if this really works in black and white. The dog has its head out resting on the window frame, making a small shadow underneath. The window frame is dark, with white louvre blinds or shutters on them. The window is in a building on shopping strip, above an unseen retail outlet, and power lines run across the frame.

Close up view of the back of a washing machine sitting on the verge. Three hoses are in view. Two are attached to the back by nuts - one nut blue, the other red. The other hose is held the the machine by a clamp, the end with a red nut is not fixed. There is some dust or similar on the back near the attached hoses. Some light is reflected, possibly from the windows of the house behind, making shadows on the back.

Empty shop life Reusing this photo as it fits this week perfectly #AlphabetChallenge #WeekLforLookingIn #photography #emptyshop
Looking through a window with bars to a shop that has been empty for many years. The bars are both metal and wooden. The window has no glass or other material covering it. The floor is covered in dust and detritus. A doorway leads to another room, filled with sunlight. In the main room sunlight is seen on the floor coming in through a side window.

Walking along the street with a camera #ColourADay #YellowThu #UrbanGaze #photography
Looking side on from the footpath at a driveway and steps. Three concrete steps are in view, running along side a blonde brick retaining wall. A brown railing runs along the other side of the steps. On each step is a line of yellow safety paint. The concrete driveway had two lines of yellow safety paint, one each side of a drain running across its width. An unseen crack further up the driveway causes water to run down into the driveway, seen here with some leaves and other detritus on the surface. On the other side of the driveway is the edge of another retaining wall, with the corner of a walkway up the driveway partly in view.

Three fallen leaves and some sticks on a footpath in weird light. The middle leaf is red, an autumn colour. It is the beginning of spring, September. Under this leaf is a stick. with most of it visible. To the right of the leaf is a smaller stick, about 2cm or so in length. Above the red leaf is a smaller leaf that is a light reddish green colour. Below the middle leaf is a green leaf, curled at the edges.

A dwelling backing onto a lane, viewed from a park across from it. There is a treated pine barrier in the foreground on the park side, lower right of the frame. The lane has bicycle symbols painted on it, one in each direction. What is seen of the dwelling is a orange/red brick wall, with what looks like some sort of whiteish graffiti remover covering a fair amount of the bricks. Two doors set into the wall. One a beige garage door at the left edge of the frame. Next to it is a yellow door with red window panels. A small garden bed is next to the yellow door, with some flowering plants growing in it.

There are several power lines in view, some thicker than others. The background is blue sky with some light cloud.

The stairs are metal with a continuous handrail and a glass wall on at least one side only one side is in view). The stairs disappear behind a black wall on the footpath The building looks to be seven storeys along with a ground floor. Three columns of the upper windows in view each have a juliet balcony. Not sure if these two are trying to blend in or if they are in a "Halt. Who goes there?" type situation. I'd wager they are most definitely silently judging those who pass. #Caturday #photography
Two cats in front of a corner of wall at the edge of the footpath. There is a metal gate one one side of the wall. One cat is standing, an orange and white tabby. That closest to the fence is a light brown/grey with white on face and front (sorry, can't describe accurately) and it is sitting with its tail to its side. The fence is orange/brown mix in colour, with darker brown layers at the bottom. The fence is sort of but not quite the colours of the cats.
