We are truly horrified by Trump, but a lot of what's happening had its roots in Bush's response to 9/11. This started the forever wars on 'terror', the clamping down of rights, the othering of minorities & the steady destruction of the rules-based order. a great read of the dark legacy of 9/11.

The US and the UK overthrew the Iranian leader Mohammad Mossadegh on this day in in 1953. Mossadegh had fought back against British imperialism by nationalizing the oil company now known as BP. The UK has yet to acknowledge its role in this travesty.

Massachusettes "Millionaires Tax", which was targeted to fund transportation and education, has been a resounding success. It has funded FREE school lunch for ALL students, FREE buses in lowest income communities (people can get to work, etc.), and FREE community college. And "exodus" was minimal.
