iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

feel like keeping a cheap ipad mini handy (or just using my deactivated iphone on the wifi) would fix most of my hesitations here (need to book ubers, transfer/send money & also read manga/comics lol) so i am kind of tempted…..

BARBIE NOKIA PHONE HAS GOOGLE MAPS…..

also kind of want to cancel my *pple music subscription & either download music onto an old ipod or get a fucking walkman and go back to CDs, like i can’t do this anymore guys i’m pacing the walls of my enclosure fjdjfjdk

030

apparently there’s a whole sub for this with potential workarounds so maybe i will do some sleuthing….

the thing is i use google maps and uber/lyft very often (i don’t drive so both are kind of essential) which sucks because i’d love to just get like a fucking nokia flip phone lol

kind of sad i already went in on a new iphone because lately i reallyyyyy want to get a phone that is capable of nothing but texting and making calls. a phone for senior citizens

only 50ish pages into sunrise on the reaping and already obsessedddddd with maysilee donner

oh 100% and i would say it’s because the story is so simple on its face that all these different readings can resonate simultaneously……like i think the op was just taking it all very literally

half the time when people come out of indie movies like “this thing is full of plotholes, i have so many questions” i’m like. i think those are just questions the movie would like you to ponder on your own time. like when you read a book in grade school & then your teacher asks you about the similes

and sue loves elisabeth because she IS her/will become her (both thematically, and later through the literal merging of their bodies) and also because elisabeth is her genesis, elisabeth is functionally her god. it’s like if hbo hacks was selfcest ykwim

110

like what do you MEAN does elisabeth admire sue? yes she envies and resents her because she can never BE her again. but she’s also lived her entire life in thrall to what she used to be/or could never be (e.g. what sue represents)..sue is what she’s spent her whole life CHASING & all she has left

“the film refuses to complicate elisabeth’s relationship with sue beyond a dynamic of competition” but the culmination of that arc IS the complication…elisabeth ultimately chooses not to kill “sue” because she can’t let go of everything sue represents. of COURSE she loves sue, and also hates her

I need y'all to sit with this headline and understand what is being done to our community. They're trying to criminalize our very existence. This is a campaign of eradication. www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/rcna...
