"Star Maker" by Remedios Varo illustrates a figure in a mystical setting, meticulously crafting stars at a small table within a surreal structure. This artwork reflects Varo's fascination with alchemy and the metaphysical, embodying her intricate style and visionary imagination.

When I’m struggling to write, I often go back to this David Lynch quote. ‘I discovered that if one looks a little closer at this beautiful world, there are always red ants underneath’
My childhood was elegant homes, tree-lined streets, the milkman, building backyard forts, droning airplanes, blue skies, picket fences, green grass, cherry trees. Middle America as it’s supposed to be. But on the cherry tree, there’s this pitch oozing out – some black, some yellow – and millions of red ants crawling all over it. I discovered that if one looks a little closer at this beautiful world, there are always red ants underneath.

Black and white photograph of a production line at the factory of Lever Brothers Ltd. The employees (all women) are standing or sitting by the conveyor belt, which has packages of a product (soap?) on. They are all holding large mugs of tea and most are looking at the camera. The caption reads "Tea is served to the girl employees of Lever Brothers, Limited, at 10 a.m. Several letters and expressions of thanks have been received by the factory management".
