Sooo frustrated with non-communication so thank you for putting in the work to focus on it 🥰 Afterglow/aftercare, of course, but also less Big Major Problem that puts chars at odds w each other & more everyday things ppl resolve over time. Love takes work--ongoing--& lot of romances gloss over that.

I prefer sex on the page midway in some stories & none at all in others. It depends on the characters--bc intimacy takes a unique shape depending on the relationship & I'm personally aiming for that space where each member of a partnership can see the other(s) laid bare. Literally or otherwise.

I was at a shop in Poulsbo, WA that had really cool jellyfish lamps. I asked if I could take a picture of one and the shopkeeper told me that I couldn't take a picture inside, but could take one from through the window from outside. Turned out to be one of my favorite photos.

I try to remember--imperfectly lol. Lots of accessibility needs in my network. My kid can't always read imgs bc of double vision; needs to resize & move text to whatever degree eyes are able to lock onto that day, & pics don't always scale w/o blur. Narrows things a lot. Can I let the readers decide how deep they want to explore relationships & how much of the experience/world they want to dig into, instead of conversation tone? Might help that Lyka is a bit of a voyeur & Copper is super analytical. Both "you"s observe, differently.

So the reader can't experience the story as themselves/ self-insert into a blank slate. They directly step into a specific "you"'s shoes...If it doesn't make sense to give the "you" multiple paths to choose bc their way forward is pre-defined, I have to change my approach to narrative choices.

Finding it tough writing in 2nd person for an actual character--w Fate/Sascha, "you" was the reader, w premise of a 3rd person story Fate is telling "you" & "you" guessing what happens next (which Fate embellishes onward). In Acing Dessert, "you" is 1 of 2 MCs w backstories, personalities, goals...
