I can't think of "Bullitt" without thinking of Ebert's review, which features n all-timer in terms of damning with faint praise (or, as I like to call it, "praising with faint damn", because I'm an asshole.)

Roger Ebert describing Robert Vaughn's performance as being "better than usual". I assume Mr. Ebert cringed every time Vaughn came on TV shilling for the law offices of James Scott Farrin.

This was an absolutely horrific show. I still remember the theme music. Nine-year-old me watched it for JJ Walker. 52-year-old me has considered trying to find it again for George Wyner (criminally underused by the industry), Roger Bowen and Josh Mostel.
