People ask me to stay in combat sports to push back against this, but how? There isn’t much of a constituency looking for what I espouse and as long as the most powerful stakeholders enable or promote retrograde ideas and values with no advertiser or broadcaster pushback, they just continue apace.

I've been hit by a car twice in DC while biking, so I am glad Mamdani is encouraging people to wear helmets. But riders who are concerned about much bigger problems related to bike safety in a country that irrationally prioritizes cars do not get my scorn.
