Yeah. Not-so-fun fact, but almost everywhere in the US with regulations about conversion “therapy” only ban it for minors. But as @lukeslamdunkwilson.bsky.social points out in this story, these practices are abuse, not legitimate medical treatments. They aren’t safe for anyone of any age.

The Supreme Court of the United States’ decision to allow licensed counselors to practice conversion therapy on minors, in the name of free speech, is reprehensible. As a conversion-therapy survivor, I am in no way surprised by today’s decision given how SCOTUS is stacked.

Did conversion therapy laws in ~25 states accomplish much? Not enough, unfortunately: No one was ever prosecuted, and only a half-dozen therapists were sanctioned. What do we need instead: 1/3
