An alternative to the diatribes being flung over the Ed Sheeran-Robert Kraft-Macklemore controversy.
I respect Christianity, Judaism, and Islam as faiths that have given millions of people meaning, community, moral purpose, and hope. I also believe that beliefs and movements within every religion can and should be criticized when they cause harm.

I oppose religious nationalism—Christian, Jewish, or Islamic—when it uses religion or ethnicity to give one group greater rights, political power, protection, or human worth than another. That does not mean denying any people’s history, faith, culture, security, or right to self-determination. No people’s rights should depend on denying the equal dignity and basic rights of another.

Criticism of a government or nationalist movement is not an attack on the religion or ethnicity associated with it. Christians are not Christian nationalism. Jews are not the Israeli government or Jewish nationalism. Muslims are not Islamic nationalism. People should not be held collectively responsible for what governments or political movements do in their name.

I stand with Christians, Jews, and Muslims, and against hatred toward any of them. I also stand against any political movement that makes citizenship, equality, dignity, or basic human rights depend on having the right religion or ancestry.

A warm, realistic illustration of a Jewish rabbi and Muslim imam standing together in prayer at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City. The rabbi wears a kippah and prayer shawl; the imam wears a white kufi and dark embroidered robe. White flowers and a handwritten note reading “Many Peoples, One City, A Brighter Tomorrow” rest beside them. One World Trade Center rises in the background beneath a golden sunset. Text across the sky offers a blessing for New York, emphasizing compassion, human dignity, peace, and “salaam and shalom.” Banners and smaller inscriptions reinforce themes of kindness, justice, belonging, remembrance, healing, shared humanity, and building a more compassionate future.

Five ways people abuse and lie about 9/11 to divide Americans: 1. “Sharia tells Muslims to lie.” Taqiyya permits concealing faith under persecution, not routinely deceiving non-Muslims. The Bible likewise praises protective deception: Exodus 1:15–21; Joshua 2. yaqeeninstitute.org/read/paper/p...

The political "left" and "right" are delusions at best, lies at worst. Here's what the U.S. political spectrum actually looks like.
A 3D political compass rendered as a translucent wireframe cube, viewed from above and to the right in isometric perspective. Three color-coded arrows extend outward from the cube along its edges, each labeling a political axis: a red horizontal arrow marks the left–right spectrum from Libertarian to Authoritarian (Political Authority); a blue vertical arrow marks top-to-bottom from Cosmopolitan to Nationalist (Global Orientation); a green diagonal arrow marks depth from Institutionalist at the back to Populist at the front (System Trust). The cube's faces are tinted with subtle color gradients reflecting the meeting of these axes.
Four real-world political groups are plotted inside the cube as emoji markers. 🔵 Biden/Clinton Democrats appear in the upper-left-back region — moderate authority, cosmopolitan, institutionalist. 🗽 Libertarians sit nearby but further from the center, at the extreme low-authority, cosmopolitan, institutionalist corner. ✊ Bernie-wing Progressives appear toward the upper-right-front — cosmopolitan like the Democrats, but significantly more populist and somewhat more authoritarian. 🔴 MAGA Republicans occupy the opposite extreme: lower-right-front — high authority, nationalist, and strongly populist. A key below the compass lists each group's name and precise X, Y, Z coordinates. The most striking insight the cube reveals: MAGA and Bernie both sit deep in the Populist (front) region of the cube, but at opposite ends of every other axis.

As lunatic billionaires take over CBS, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Fox, and most newspapers, it becomes easier to know which media to turn off. We can all go back to reading books.
A colorful, cartoon-style caricature fills the frame.

In the foreground, a bald man with large red-framed glasses and a short goatee smiles while holding an open, small hardbound book. His eyes are exaggeratedly wide, giving him a playful, slightly surprised look. He wears a maroon long-sleeve shirt, and one hand points at the page as if following the words.

Behind him are several old-fashioned CRT televisions with rounded screens and antennae.
	•	On the left TV is a black-and-white “PLEASE STAND BY” test-screen style image with circular calibration markings.
	•	On the upper-right TV is a propaganda-like image of a stern man pointing outward in front of an American flag, with bold text that reads: “TRUST YOUR GOVERNMENT.”
	•	On the lower-right TV is another black-and-white test-screen style display with large text: “PLEASE STAND BY.”

To the right of the book, a stack of books sits on the table, suggesting studying or relearning. The background is warm-toned and textured, like an aged wall or paper, reinforcing a retro, slightly dystopian broadcast vibe.
