Oh yeah like there is plenty of cases where it’s very helpful. But the requirements for it keep getting more lax. Which on one side is a good thing; making it more accessible to people who need it, but also yeah— that. That I see a lot.

As someone who works in pharmacy it was a real trip seeing it go from a revolutionary medication for people with diabetes to whats basically a rapid weight loss fad. Not saying it’s not helpful for that in many cases, but people seem to forget it’s a serious medication with serious side effects x-x

Personal interpretation of “Abstraction is permanent” is not that they can’t recover and come out of it in a sense. It’s that they’ll be significantly and permanently changed by it. Alex Rochon’s interpretation of it as being similar to long term inpatient care at the end feels right.

I’m FtM so- not speaking from personal experience here. But from what I understand from transfem friends who’ve had the surgery; once fully healed it’s a sort of douche in the shower about 3 times a week using an appropriate mild soap/body wash and warm water mix.

I was genuinely terrified my Tarantula passed away in her den because she hadn’t come out in so long and when I looked at the bottom of her enclosure she was partially visible, but it looked like she hadn’t moved. Can not describe the relief to see her little peets poking out the hole this morning 🥹

For me it’s the shell of the tail end of the prawn (shrimp for the Americans). As long as it’s properly cooked it doesn’t taste like anything, just cronchy.
