actually, one use case i could maybe think of is to compensate for the delay in networking, to make interactions more real time. prediction would have to be really accurate in that case too, otherwise the movements of others will seem a bit wonky

i still don’t fully understand why prediction is needed. is it for those short moments for when tracking cuts out / is inaccurate? how accurate is current gen hand tracking hardware?

Just updated to iPadOS 27. I do not think the OS, AI and System Data should be taking up 2/3rd of my storage.

The top of the iPadOS storage panel the chart shows a 64 GB filled to the brim (62.93 GB). Then a pane below says “Additional Storage Required” for Apple Intelligence & Siri; 8.33 GB it needs.

tl;dr: * Don't use crunch on avatars. * AssetBundle compression is good enough. * Use RG BC5 for normal maps, BC7 for diffuse/color. * If your avatar is still too big, reduce your texture resolution. * If lowering rez makes things fuzzy, re-approach implementation. Use decals or fix your UVs.
