When someone says that "I can't do this," please do not dismiss their worries and fears and simply reply, "Yes, you can!" Some of you even leave them to deal with things alone. What we need are not empty words of encouragement. We need actual, tangible support.

My tinfoil hat hot take is I think the effort to get us to value views over interaction is about trying to shift agency away from the user and toward the platform. They want us to value what their algo can do over the relationships we build.

I haven't logged into Our Life: Beginning and Always in quite a while, so imagine my reaction that this is what I return to:
A young man with long green hair tied back in a ponytail and wearing glasses (Cove from Our Life: Beginning and Always), a necklace with an anchor pendant, and a light brown sando sitting on a windowsill. With accompanying text: "That was when you truly understood. Cove had come straight to you upon getting back to town. You were his first port of call, taking precedence above all else."

It still has to be said: before posting an opinion, maybe make sure you are well-informed about a subject first. For example, before saying "Filipinos do not support local literature/comics", ask yourself first do YOU read current works by local authors, yourself?

Seeing Toru tonight in OOR's 2025 Nissan Stadium concert film made me change a detail in my LI's outfit for an upcoming cover photo shoot, because just look at him, okay 👀

By the way, I binged "Murderbot" on the plane on that long flight and I finished up to episode 6! I love it. I also love everyone, too.

I know it's just something people say here (I am currently somewhere outside of the Philippines) haha, but everytime people ask me "How are you doing today?" I get into a bit of an existential crisis because how am I, really 😅

I know I do rant about some personal things here too ahaha but seriously, some people should write thoughts down on a journal instead of posting every single thought online (especially Reddit huhu) 🥲

I sometimes (often) complain about how tired I get from all our activities in school, but after teaching students I always feel so energized. Thankful for the reminders that I do love what I do as a teacher. (That, and all the coffee I drank this morning haha)

Spent the last hour writing an emotional post about a current issue rather than making exam questions that are due ASAP, ahaha. But it was worth it 😅 Things have to be said. And it was quite cathartic.

I keep crying these days but today I am crying happy tears because after a lecture I gave today to general surgeons, they mentioned my dad, saying that he was one of their dear mentors during their training, and that I was now teaching them too like he did. I hope my dad is proud of me 😭

Was vaguely interested in an upcoming book, but it was labeled as "literary horror" and I never could understand why people don't just label all books like this as simply "horror". Genre fiction is literature 🥲

The thing with going on vacation is that while it does rejuvenate me for a while, when I go back I just return to the same problems, and somehow they are made even worse in my absence.

Also another reason why I'm not too fond of solo travelling is that I would like to try a lot of the local food, but I can't finish everything all on my own 🥲 Especially since servings are for more than one person, ehe.

I realized that one of the reasons why I don't like traveling alone is that I often like to bounce ideas off other people, to dispel some of the anxiety I feel when going to a new place.

Being an introvert, I don't go to a lot of events where I have to meet new people. On the rare occasions that I do say yes to them, I often ask myself, "What the heck were you thinking, girl?" But I realize now that it's important that I do this, especially when I'm sad.

I went back to playing "Our Life: Beginning and Always" (because I'm tired and I needed something with less strategy and thinking involved), and I got some reassurance from Cove tonight (I missed him, huhu).
Cove from the game "Our Life" saying: I guess what I'm trying to say is- whatever you feel about it is how you feel about it, you don't have to force yourself to be different."

One of the senior pathologists (she's probably in her late 70s or maybe early 80s) in one of my labs had been asking me if she could read my book, and I didn't think she was serious at first, but since she kept asking whenever we saw each other, I finally gave her a copy.

So I am back to playing otome games for comfort 😅 But enjoying Royal Alchemist so far! I like that the main character (whom I have named Lady Celestine lol) is smart and great at combat, too. From the first meeting, I think I may have a favorite love interest, but let's see how it goes.

I've been struggling to find hope in the new year, and I've been staying away from reading romance because I was afraid it might make me feel even sadder, reminding me of things I cannot have in real life. But I had to read an old story of mine today for edits, and I felt more hopeful after.

MMFF 2025 movie 1: "Shake, Rattle and Roll Evil Origins"! (Still in a horror mood, yes.) I enjoyed this. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to horror anyway, but I particularly liked how the 3 stories were interconnected, despite being of different sub-genres of horror.

Our Christmas Eve film was, of all things, "Until Dawn" (2025 horror film), since we were in the mood for horror (lol yes). It was okay (I didn't play the game, either) and there were surprising moments, but I guess I was expecting something else from the trailer.

Techbros seem to love Tolkien, so here's an analogy to help you understand what genAI is. GenAI is The One Ring. You think your use is justified, b/c you don't have evil in your heart. But it came from evil, it is intended for evil purpose, & anything you do with it will be twisted to that end.
Boromir from THE LORD OF THE RINGS, holding The One Ring. He thought he could use it for good, but everything done with the ring turns to evil. He was one of the mightiest warriors of middle earth, and he could not resist its powers. Others even mightier fell to the ring. Do you think you are stronger than them? The One Ring is generative AI.
