and I say this AS someone who uses Colemak lol I love Colemak but I can’t universally recommend learning it to everyone because it IS quite a Commitment and you WILL have a period where you suffer and type at like 25% speed

this just surgically targets the one (1) single biggest Ergonomic Sin that QWERTY commits by wasting one of the most precious key placements on infrequently used punctuation and having a frequently-enough used letter in a place that’s just Not Comfortable it’d take like 30 minutes to learn at most

because the adjustment period is MUUUUCH shorter with one key moving to a very close spot than with lots of frequently used keys moving around; learning an ergonomic layout can be worthwhile but will slow you down for months

NO EXACTLY are we all just going to forget how terrible the UI on most “native” cross-platform toolkits used to be 😭 you can definitely get a good UI/UX on a cross-platform app without using Electron but what they all have in common is that they tend to be custom and don’t try to be native

it’s just specialised you don’t really want to Do Actual Work on it as a tablet and poke desktop apps with tiny buttons that were designed for mice with your finger but they’re what runs all the games and none of that matters for games
