Fiat Lux @luce060644.bsky.social · 13/06/2026If that's what you get from my educated suppositions, you're an idiot. I honestly don't give a fuck if the letters come down in eighteen seconds or eighteen minutes or eighteen hours. They will come down, regardless. We have more important problems this shitshow of an administration has caused. 100

Fiat Lux @luce060644.bsky.social · 13/06/2026But this was: "Hours earlier, the crew had erected scaffolding around the section of the building where Trump’s name had been affixed. But as a thunderstorm rolled through the nation’s capital, the workers paused their efforts, leaving the lettering in place." The Guardian 020
Fiat Lux @luce060644.bsky.social · 13/06/2026The façade is marble and marble is easily damaged. They did a shit job installing the letters, but removing them without cracking the surrounding surfaces is going to be nowhere near as easy as hammering them in. Plus the holes will have to be repaired and filled, and done so as to be invisible. 111
Fiat Lux @luce060644.bsky.social · 13/06/2026My husband just told me it's going to be a bear to remove the letters without damaging the marble, and they did a shit & damaging job putting them up. They're going to actually have to repair the façade, and the scaffolding is most likely for that job. 030
Fiat Lux @luce060644.bsky.social · 13/06/20262/2 they're invisible is going to be a tricky task & they're going to need some equipment to do it that would be dangerous on a lift. Also, Trump filed 2 appeals today to stop removal, & work legally had to stop til the judge rejected them. No one's slow-walking the work they're just doing it right. 231
Fiat Lux @luce060644.bsky.social · 13/06/2026I just asked my husband, who knows about these constructiony things. Using lifts was dangerous and half-assed, and the marble was certainly damaged because the letters were installed half-assed and too fast. Removing the letters without further damaging the facade, then filling the holes so 1/2 191
