Hey #yeg, should we all pay for storing private property on public property? Should it be limited to “vehicles“ of whatever size regardless of personal or corporate ownership? The U-Haul near my place used to store many trucks on the street. What about rebates for parking on your property?

The idea that we can recycle our way out of needing new mines and processing is laughable. There is a long stock-building phase which - with 10+ yr life in vehicle and substantial second use potential - means even 100% efficient recycling would be at least 50 yrs from being majority of supply.

When the builder was prepping to demolish the house 2 doors down for an infill, I asked if they were sending all to the dump. Then negotiated the fencing materials (all PT) so they didn’t have to pay to dispose. Now those materials are becoming a new fence for my place. #yeg #reuse

The sinkhole at 121 St and 114 Ave active transport intersection keeps getting bigger. I wonder if Epcor would fully blockade a road intersection for as long as this will take? Going across the grass is ok for now, but if not fixed by winter will be an "issue". #yeg #yegbike

So they are finally backfilling the enormous hole they have created for a retaining wall on 111 Ave between 120 and 121 st to finish the 111 Ave active mobility stretch. I don't know why such a complicated (expensive) approach was needed but maybe it will be usable before winter? #yeg #yegbike

This is the BIG long term risk for the Canadian Prairies, including major cities and the Industrial Heartland. When water flows are erratic, we will have over allocation that starts to look like the Colorado River basin. But, some of that industrial consumption can disappear with design choices.

@geodarcy.bsky.social Queen Mary Park was micro resurfaced about 3 weeks ago and 109 ave sharrows have been repainted. I think there is a different service level for full neighborhood surface finishing and "minor" repairs like 105 ave.
