Anniversary 50p coin to feature a depiction of infamous Magic The Gathering card The One Ring on the front, and a rather gruesome depiction of Gollum on the back.

The correlation between companies named after the Tolkien legendarium and their CEO/Founder being a chittering skinwalker fingering his own taint at the idea of draining the planet of all its resources and then fucking off to a sealed dome in New Zealand while everyone else suffers is extremely high

Zuckerburg is paying only $190M to settle an $8B lawsuit by FB shareholders for the Cambridge Analytica crime. $8B would’ve been 3% of his net worth, and $190M is .08%. ~$75 for ordinary working people. “If the penalty for a crime is a fine, then that law only exists for the lower class.”

No pensé que hiciera falta decirlo, pero en esta cuenta se celebra el asesinato de cualquier fascista, se aboga por el asesinato de más y más fascistas y no se atiende ningún razonamiento que defienda que no se asesine a más fascistas.

I've been thinking of the "Can Granny Weatherwax beat Bugs Bunny" question and this is my full take for Discworld characters:
Vimes - Cares too much, too easy to piss off. Has the innate chase instinct that makes characters run into walls with realistic tunnels painted on them. Might get to arrest Bugs Bunny but the beast will just slip out of the handcuffs to help him lock them, then walk out of the jail cell to have a union mandated coffee break.
Ridcully - Classic hunting season scenario, but has enough charisma to probably still get a few good shots off before the inevitable.
Rest of the wizards - No survivors, only Bugs.
Carrot - The intense near-magical narrative aura of well meaning innocence should make him immune, Bugs will likely be forced to be the villain of the episode.
Lord Vetinari - Flattened by a comically large anvil in the first few minutes of the episode, unclear if it was all a part of his long term strategy or not.
Moist - Has the 'lovable trickster getting away with it' energy, but nowhere near Bugs level
…scenario with the stamp slugs once, won't fare any better here.
Death - Definitely one of those "character is trying to avoid death" episodes, would go back and forth. Might actually get to end Bugs but his spirit will reappear in Death's domain and ruin his garden.
Nanny Ogg - The ultimate in anti-Bugs technology, a gleefully annoying old lady who doesn't give a fuck and definitely won't be the first to instigate the plot bearing conflict. This is a full sweep, he's the episode antagonist.
Granny Weatherwax - Too win-motivated to not lose. Would have to break the story to have any chance. Might do it.
Magrat - Will have sappy ideas about helping the poor animal which honestly has the 50:50 chance of either getting slapsticked or Bugs ending in a ye olde stroller&pacifier gag.
Colon&Nobby - Designed in a lab to be totaled by Bugs Bunny.
Tiffany Aching - A child that also has a large pan that is the perfect thing to hit someone over the head with and make a BOIOIOINGGG sound, so great odds.

Anyway, this game is finished. It was a game I couldn’t finish when I was a kid, so, that is done. And I am done.

The final boss takes sooooo long to win. Like you have to hit him an absurd amount of times. I think it’s final form is the second or third time that I died in the game, so kudos for that, it’s abusively difficult.

I did not complete the roulette puzzle, because I do not know how much time it will take me to win 5 random games in a row, probably a life time. I just don’t want to be here anymore.

There are so many places where Alundra gets stuck because there are a bunch of pixels, either when he is walking or running… and it is so very tiring.

I have no love left for the multiple pixel perfect jumps, that after 45 mins of trying I just used seed-bug to finish, because I do not want to restart the puzzle another time by going out and in the room with extra loading screens.

I will never touch this game again, if I had to describe it, it would be “What a bunch of bullshit”. I have no words for the “Random doors Dungeon” where actually starting the dungeons requires you to go through a pattern of doors that you go through so many times you end up memorising.

there are still some, but I do not think that after what I did in that tree there are going to be able to repopulate. I had more conversations with the monkey leader than that random villager.

It seems forced, there are characters that you could clearly could not care less about and still get the axe, and the game pushes you to feel bad about it? Like, I have talked to that guy once and, my man, I just extinguished an entire spices of talking monkeys. I mean,

consequences, but not by the people who should be doing it. People die, but it seems rather arbitrary, some characters are treated like some good old pal you should mourn, you've met them 4 days ago. There is a death that is treated like a massive thing, and yeah, that

I haven´t talked about the story much, because I do not want to spoil, but it is cute. "You guys are morons for praying" is always a a good hit on my book. But this game story seems... random. Characters die, some of them are clearly at fault for this, they face

The final boss of this dungeon deals 0 damage to you. I was like coool a fucking dragon! lets gooo! He does not pose any threat at all. Jumping balls of lava on an Y axis only have killed me more, and forced me to restart the game out of sheer desperation.

Random @lrdrandom.bsky.social · 31/03/2025
There is a second puzzle like this in this dungeon. The trend of hit a creature 17 times to kill it continues. Why? it's a random bad guy in a dungeon? There are final bosses that take less hits to kill, and they do not respawn on room change.

Random @lrdrandom.bsky.social · 31/03/2025
fast, and everytime you fail you loose a tiny bit of life. And it is in the path of another failed jump puzzle. To the point that failing said second jump puzzle makes you go back to the first one. There is a save point between them. It is easier to just restart the game.

Random @lrdrandom.bsky.social · 31/03/2025
But everything else pales compared to the fucking puzzle of having to freeze lava balls to stand up on them and time their movement so you can jump to the next one. Because Alundra doesn´t jump very well, and vertical jumping is not his forte. And you kinda have to do it

More Alundra time! You climb a tree, you do a puzzle. You climb back the tree. Repeat 7 times. Thanks, I know this tree well enough now.

Terry Pratchett & Rob Wilkins @terryandrob.bsky.social · 12/03/2025
Shortly before he died, Terry Pratchett assured me that, if there is an afterlife, he would give me a ring and let me know. That was ten years ago - and still no call.

From which, incidentally, I draw no firm conclusions. What if there was an afterlife, but with no phone signal?

But of course there is one place where Terry indisputably lives on: in the pages of his books and in the minds of the millions of readers around the world who turn those pages and continue to find them funny and true.

For, while his words live on, so does Terry, and that will be the case, no question, not just for this one decade so quickly gone, but for many further decades to come.

So let me join Lyn and Rhianna in raising a glass today to the magical persistence of books and to Sir Terry; gone but still so very firmly with us.

Sometimes is "use an item, good luck knowing which". And you never know when presented with one, if you got the good puzzle designer or the guy who designed the UX... that I believe is three sheep on a trench coat .

The puzzles keep baffling me. Sometimes they are this creative "move stuff around in the right order" that is mind blowing. Sometimes is "here is a clue, it solves nothing" and you are better brute forcing it.

Random @lrdrandom.bsky.social · 12/03/2025
Story has some weird beats. You confront a bad guy, he tells you to piss off and that he will continue killing. You do so. Alundra, what are you doing? People are dying! Your adoptive father dies (he killed him). He is at the funeral He tells you it is your fault. FFS Alundra, stab him already!

Random @lrdrandom.bsky.social · 12/03/2025
New Six more hours of Alundra! Didn't do much in this time, got a new sword. Looks cool. Unfortunately, previous sword ha disappeared because Alundra item menu overrides certain stuff. I think it is optional, so I wonder what happens if I get a lower power item on top of a more powerful one...

I am probably around 3/4s of the game and the random gelly enemy still takes three (3) hits to kill. I am now rooting for most people to die on this village, just to have a better weapon.

Random @lrdrandom.bsky.social · 25/02/2025
Some other weird lore choices. Your "adoptive" (I am sure he will be your real at some point) father is a blacksmith. He can only create you new weapons whenever someone on the village dies.
