At least I had a nice poem written for me. The other was a bit outdated. In my mind this is called "so this is what it's meant to feel like"

sometimes when a flower doesn't even know
that it has been barren, when the day appears
when the fervent flushing watering ventures forth
suddenly the technicolor and the light locks into place
for it was always just your endless remembered face,
which spoke to this lost with fiery found
It was always reassurent vocal sound
that no folly, randomness or slip
but adament divining, a puzzle of the hip but to actually feel the curiosity within your kind of scene
to hear your sense of listenment in reply to what I've been,
it's the kind of safe one doesn't realize they've been holding in their breath
I don't know how much longer I'd survive when put to test
but blessed within the timing and not granted taken now
Maybe that's the reason we all have to feel this out
we need the droughts and deserts for to know the place
to bloom it's the self-evident in finding
it's actual harmony to our tune

I don't know, I think it's nice. I don't do language poetry so it does have a pretty comprehensible meaning. (The doe in the woods part is about a painting I bought her from a local artist featuring a dear in a forest fire and also about her experiences with homelessness).

“My companion will have a house salad with low fat ranch and a Long Island Iced Tea,” Ben says. Ed shuts his mouth. He doesn’t really like salad, but he guesses he ought to get used to it if he wants to lose weight. Ed just sips his wine as Ben orders a ribeye steak for himself.
When the waiter walks away, Ed sighs.
“You know,” Ben begins. “I don’t mean to offend you, but it would be much better for your career if you dropped the whole transgender thing.”
Ed bristles. “Drop my literal identity? Uh, no thanks.”
“You’ll be much more successful. Sure, there are a few people with a fetish for it, the transexualism, but most people want women.”
Part of Ed can’t believe what he’s hearing, but the other part of Ed—the smarter part, maybe—knows that Ben is right.
“Yeah,” Ed mumbles. He drinks the rest of his wine as he mulls it over. Maybe he should cancel his HRT appointment at his clinic.
Ben pours more wine into Ed’s glass and gives a lopsided smile.
