I am sick and tired of seeing this shit. DOGE was not a "missed opportunity," it was an intentional effort by billionaire oligarchs to destroy the federal government's capacity to do good things for the American people.

An amazingly stark example of how the US economy has broken: Zaslav clears nearly a *billion* dollars amid a CEO tenure where he made basically anything he touched worse, harmed multiple prestigious brands, led huge layoffs—but delivered a corrupt merger for shareholders. variety.com/2026/tv/news...

If we needed more evidence:
The result was that Johanna—who was the “female”-appearing agent, ended up with about 10.25% less money than her male-appearing counterpart, Jonah. Participants afterward said they also saw Jonah as more human than Johanna, as well.

The American white collar workforce started working from home three days a week for like six months a year into COVID and executives so thoroughly lost their minds over this that they installed Trump II. If anything, AI will create the 7-day workweek.

It's incredible how many BlueSky users who complain about the power of oligarchs are currently exposing the fact that they have Amazon accounts, actively contributing to the entrenchment of those same oligarchs' power. Amazon really got y'all to show your asses with that customer trends page.

And presumably once you have the kid, it'll show you podcasts about how easily and quickly they can be abducted from playgrounds. It's disappointing how effectively we've trained computers that we collectively care more about fear and hate than love and positivity.

I think the key is to use it as a tool, not to allow it to think for you. I.e. just because you use a nail gun doesn't mean you forget how to use a hammer. But yeah, once you allow it to start thinking for you, things go downhill fast.

SpaceX: Using 18 disposable rockets like Apollo did isn't economical, so we'll make a reusable rocket instead. Also SpaceX: It's totally fine if we accidentally blow up 30 rockets on our way to making a reusable one.

It's incredible how quickly I lose respect for those who use Trump aphorisms. Oh, you're saying "thank you for your attention to this matter" ironically? Well, I'm unironically downgrading my opinion of you and unfollowing you. Stop quoting the tyrant.

The craziest part is that... if it were true, wouldn't we have to stop using it like a tool and start treating it like a person? This runs counter to Anthropic's use case interests.

I think it's more likely that when one person chooses to openly be a bigot, their non-bigot friends all start edging away, so the only people left in their lives are the ones that reinforce bigotry and introduce new avenues to partake in it. It's a social thing.

That's got to be fake. Very few dudes have that good of handwriting when using their actual hands. The amount of control necessary (of stream strength, start/stoppage, aim, and wind compensation) to pull that off is superhuman.

That takes the argument too far, imo. Emergent behavior long predates AI, and the black-box nature of neural nets makes it far more prevalent. It's accurate to say that autonomous software goes rogue, but that only happens when humans put it in environments without adequate safeguards or isolation.

Louis Ingenthron @louisingenthron.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
It's not. It's taught to read code, which is famously difficult for humans (much harder than writing it). The real failure is that so many companies refused to spend any money on maintenance or fixing tech debt and now AI sees those holes clearly and assumes they're ports to functionality.

I just had an insane multi-hour dream where I realized it was a dream only to wake up in another dream where I argued with someone about whether my dream was a dream. When I finally woke up to real life, I found out I had been asleep less than an hour. Wait, is this still a dream?

There are so many ways to abdicate your cognitive load to other people or things or drugs, and it can feel really good to do so if you're a fundamentally lazy person (who among us isn't?). But doing so for too long seems to inevitably cause one to abdicate their soul along with their mind.

I'm not saying exactly him. I'm saying someone who can win the electorate on a reform message and then actually deliver. Someone who doesn't just pay lip service. Someone who is authentic. Obviously, America isn't NYC, but the dude is doing something right.

We need a reform candidate who can win the electorate *and keep it*. A national version of Mamdani. Someone with a vision to punish the lawlessness and put up safeguards for our democracy and show people there's a better way... not a reconciliation candidate who is business as usual.

Louis Ingenthron @louisingenthron.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
The problem is that, in the current state we're in, that political power only comes from a willingness to fight and truly hold the current corrupt administration's feet to the fire. Another centrist Biden candidate *might* win one term, but they'll will just enable a worse Trump 3.0 after.

Lmao. You're so obsessed with chasing clout that the idea of following someone because you're interested in reading what they have to say, rather than just a transaction to make pointless numbers go up, is utterly foreign to you. It's almost too sad to be funny. Almost.

If you're a Dem who thinks you'll gain something by going anti-trans, look at Gallup's "most important problem" and Fox News' "most important issue" polling and see where trans issues rank. Whoever told you going anti-trans is a savvy or necessary move spends too much time on X and should be fired.
Gallup polling. "LGBTQ rights" moves between 0 and 1%.Fox news polling. Wokeness/transgender issues at 0%.
