While I'm not going to let new fascist owners ruin my old childhood hyperfixations for me, I can't help but wonder... Should I sell some of my Nickelodeon stuff? I need money for a new computer, among other things, and have a lot of neat merch that might be hard to look at for the next few years.

And before that, a very likely blue wave. Stuff like that is why I'm at least thankful for the "separate operations for 5 years" part of the settlement, because the political party Ellison did all this for is gonna be out of power a lot sooner than that.

I can live with a few properties being permanently tied together. The only thing I need to see in life is for the Ellisons to be booted out. Out of this new company, out of Hollywood, out of everything they ever stepped foot in.

I guess. I just want some form of karma here, even if a split doesn't happen. I want the Ellisons driven out of Hollywood and out of all of our lives.

🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Storytelling is part of what makes us HUMAN. The urge of people who lack self awareness to remove humans from the things that make us human makes me sick. Also, hooo boy, way to miss every single point made on the show in an over 60 year history. 🫠

Say it louder for those in the back. This is especially important in entertainment where predators can abuse parasocial behavior and harass others behind closed doors and often end up getting away with it if someone protecting them choses to "make it all go away" for business.

Just a reminder: a mega-merger can absolutely still be blocked or challenged even after state Attorneys General (AGs) reach a settlement and a federal judge approves it.

If nothing else, Skydance will be required to operate WB separately from Paramount for 5 years...which is a few years more than I expect this whole merger to last.

You can drop any favorite IPs they happen to own as part of a boycott if you want, OR you can still enjoy them your own way in spite of it all. Either is valid. I'm personally too exhausted by this whole saga to care anymore.

Response to Today’s News… David Ellison might have won this war but he won’t have oversight of WB forever. Expect nothing much to change for now. If this goes the way of AOL Time Warner or AT&T/WarnerMedia, WB will be rise up again. WB has been under bad ownership before. This is no exception.

This thread pretty much sums it up. Dooming about this won't fix anything or help anyone. Best we can do is ride it out until it inevitably falls apart like all other WB acquisitions, either due to all the debt, newly elected democrats, or maybe even some crazy Hollywood-wide revolt.

Bought Coyote vs ACME on digital. Very good. More than anything I’m happy that we have a movie about Wile E Coyote that doesn’t feel the need to change him in any way to fit the film’s narrative, and instead it leans into the elements of the character that make him special.

Unless he’s insincerely liking accusations just to laugh at them later due to being as irony-pilled as Chris, there’s a small chance he’s innocent. I say small because… Let’s face it. Zach and Chris are really close. He even defended Shadman just as Chris did.

The OneyPlays friend circle is so rancid, I genuinely don’t know if Zach is liking them because they’re true or because he’s being as unserious as Chris usually is. It’s hard to tell either way with a group who built their brand on being insincere.
