I finished printing some new linocuts tonight in the shop and I love how my badger turned out. Very adorable and you can see this little guy up close and personal. Unlike real badgers which are not very friendly despite being adorable. #linocut #printmaker #printmaking

It's hard to capture how big, but here are two finished and varnished panels. I delivered these two already and I am wrapping up the last panel today and then delivery is tomorrow. #mural #muralist #art #artist #painter #montana #wildlifeart #westernart #painting #montanaart #buttemontana #birdart

I've been pretty busy working on this project. The reception is March 28 at 5pm in Butte at Clearwater Credit Union if you are local. They wanted a conservation message and these are 36 native birds to Butte. #mural #muralist #painter #wildlifeart #wildlifeartist #art #artist #montana #birds

It's kind of hard to capture how big this project is. I'm trying to wrap up for delivery in just two weeks. Hoping to finish all the background in the next two days and start finishing birds which is the best part. #art #painting #mural #muralist #wildlifeart #montana #artist #painter #birds

Little update. Still working every day on this project. I am using clouds to create movement and unity across the 3 panels. Since this is meant for the side of a building I also hope it draws your eyes from the street. #art #artist #muralist #mural #wildlifeart #wildlifeartist #painting #acrylic

Project update: all 3 panels drawn except for one tree. I was just too tired to keep drawing after 8 hours.

Nevada Tiger moths can be found in sage brush grasslands in Montana. Their bright colors warn that they are poisonous to predators and they can make squeaking noises to confuse bats. This is another 5x7 linocut for my show in April. #linocut #art #printmaker #printmaking #artist #montanaart #montana

One of 3 panels for my outdoor art installation. This is pretty much how I spend all my time now. 36 native birds to this area, spread across 25ft x 5ft. I'm talking about the rehabilitation of habitat for native birds in a Superfund area. #art #muralart #painting

Western Skinks are found in the most Western Parts of Montana. They are Montana's only smooth scaled lizard. They have become hard to find due to habitat loss from housing development and wildfires. This is another 5x7 linocut I'm working on for my show in April. #art #print #printmaker #printmaking

Downy Woodpeckers are North America's smallest woodpecker and most common. They are also the friendliest of the woodpecker family. I see them in my neighborhood all the time and at my feeder. #art #artist #linocut #print #printmaker #printmakersofinstagram #montanaart #montanamade #montanaartist

I'm also working on this 8x10 Linocut of an American Kesteral. Drawing these blocks in the morning before work until I hit 20 5x7's and 10 8x10's. Then I will switch it up to coffee and carving in the morning.

I have a show happening in April at the Mainstope Gallery and I hope to have 20 new 5x7 linocuts. Here are 14 I have drawn up so far. I always just draw directly on blocks and scribble, then add sharpie, and finally a little wash of acrylic to help me plan values.

I've been working on this exterior art installation that has 36 different bird species native to Butte. Meaning I technically draw each bird 3 times, the sketch, the overhead projector sheet, the final drawing. 108 birds really. I can't wait to show off the panels.
